Erik I have had a good look at the colours. I definitely prefer the black frames, that said a very dark gunmetal may be nice. I have found these wheels too. (Rota GRA) They are really nice and some places seem to sell a black and silver version in 108 pcd. I am wondering how much extra it would cost me to get them powder coated when I have my frame done. You are right about the 4 stud / 5 spoke issue it doesn't look right imo.

Rota has a nice line of rims. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the correct PCD way back then, but worst thing was vendors (national and ebay) weren't open to split a set of 4 in half for me and having rims made in the correct PCD turned out I had to buy 6 sets minimum of 4... Choice of color is a personal issue indeed. The outcome is always nice You may inform on the costs for powder coating them before purshase. There are many brands with similar rims available. Nice logo too. br, Erik

This gets better too. What about these Rota Grid available in matte black with correct PCD. The only thing is they are 7.5 x 17. I am not sure about this as all other posts seem to suggest 7's. My tyres are 205's, and according to Toyos website this is fine on 7.5 rims. But would these fit the Tr1ke, I cant see offset info yet..... How nice are these? Which do you think are nicest for the trike, GRA (above) or these?

For what it's worth I like the grid over the gra, they're much easier to clean and will show the calipers off more if things like that bother you, it don't bother me as I can see the calipers perfectly well from the drivers seat Personally I wouldn't have either as they're 17in so are at least 2.5 kg each to heavy. I noticed that you've upgraded to lightweight uprights, was they bought for the weight saving or added bling. I have a pair of matt black rota slipstream and a pair of matt black OZ ultraleggera both sets 15 in.

Hi Slugshot. I didn't upgrade it came like that, I paid no extra and didn't specify them. I thought it was just a slight change in design, I didn't realise it is an upgrade or any lighter TBH.
Infact I was a bit worried as it seems some people find them hard to fit bearings etc, although mine were easy . I have to say I was surprised when I saw them as I was expecting steel.
I know this is bad but I want for 17's on looks alone. Maybe the pro race are a better choice as they may be lighter. I can't find weights for rota Grid at 7.5 but the 8's are 8.6kg.
PR 17 x 7 = 7.9 kg grid 17 x 8 = 8.6 kg
On this basis I am assuming that the grid 7.5j can't be much heavier than the Pro race 2's 7j at 7.9 kg. The grids are growing on me too.
Erik what widths are yours? I went through your threads and realised that when you ordered the Momo Corse that didn't arrive they were 7.5 j. I couldn't see a size or ET for the Wolfrace that you ordered did you get 7.5J? And if so did they fit easily? What Et were they?
BTW i really like your Wolfrace but I think they are discontinued too as nowhere seems to have stock.

OK Erik
I really like yours but they are discontinued. I am phoning round to see if anywhere has any left. I have found two suppliers that think they may have them in black. I am waiting for calls back from them. Fingers crossed.

These are great. You'll love them and I'm pleased you want them too. When you might have a chance to see the Momo Corse for real you'll notice the Wolfrace series are much more refined and at a good price.
good luck!

Have a look at these, The look to be very light and specifically designed for 4 stud. Jusst an alternative option you may like after giving it some time to learn to love it It might even match with the rear wheel if lucky. www.wheelcentre-scotland.co.uk/Products/59/RS-JK4

I managed to buy 2 of the 17 x 7 like yours for £230 it's a bit more than I was hoping to pay but still cheaper than Pro - race, and lighter too if they are Just 7.5kg. I have gone for black and silver. Thanks Matt

Erik,I am gutted. I have been away for 3 weeks on holiday in France and I got back expecting to find a calling card from a courier. Nothing! It turns out that the supplier lost them within the warehouse, and they were never even sent. I have a refund but no wheels. Back to the drawing board and it is looking more and more like pro race 1.2's. Matt

With many thanks to Matt, it's now in my shed. As soon as I get to grips with the workings of the forum I'll keep everyone up to speed with the build (and no doubt bombard with questions!). It would also be a great help if I could come over and have a look at a finished one, so if someone wouldn't mind giving me a guided tour of their build please get in touch!
