I just did some research. Racepak makes a couple dashes that are plug and play with megasquirt.

I have a question about the fuel filler hose you ended up with. What size & length did you get? I called them today and Kevin from Hose &Fittings advised they did not have any hoses compatible with gasoline. I didn't bother to explain to him that his website says the 7219 series for refined fuels such as gasoline. Figured I wasn't dealing with someone who knew their products so I'm just going to order online.

This will help everyone understand the issue at hand. Even the smallest of bumps result in scraping. I have my coils as high as they will go (left about 2 threads): Even with them set that way, here is my clearance (REI card is the same size as a credit card so about 3.5" of clearance): The metal shown is the bottom part of the front subframe. I'm willing to bet that if I lowered my coils to a normal height (call it halfway down the threads) I could lay the front subframe on the ground.

What coilover units are you running? Hoping they are not FM's VMAXX or I will soon be in the same spot.

You need the spacers.....Kevin said he would have a set for me when I get my chassis Saturday but hasn't answered me how much they are so I question if they will be ready. Guess we will find out.

Is you fender bracket rubbing the tire in the shock picture? The forward bracket looks like lots of clearance.

It looks like it is rubbing in that picture doesn't it. I just went to check, it doesn't rub. Just the way the picture looks. There is about a two finger gap between the bracket and the tire.

Steadfast ... I'm curious how the front fender bracket mounts to the front steering knuckle. Is it a simple bolt up to already existing holes, etc.; or do you have to do some machining like was done on the rear knuckles' unused ABS boss? Also, on the rear, where does the second bracket bolt up to?
Regarding the spacers, is there anything that would prevent one from using a solid spacer, machined from aluminum and longer bolts between the upper mount of the coilover - through holes in the machined spacer - and the mount point on the chassis?
Thanks in advance.

Without the spacers, shorter than stock coil-over suspension is going to be an issue on the Exocet. The good news is that with the spacers, everything works great. I'm using Xida Clubsports (as short or shorter than the V-Maxx) with the spacers on my car and do not have any issues. In the pictures below, I have the height set (bottom edge of the frame to the ground at all 4 corners) set at just under 6” and still have adjustment threads left on the shock body to go higher if necessary. This setup gives me a between 5 and 5.5 inches of ground clearance under the front subframe (lowest point). Also, the control arm angles look pretty normal to me (about the same angles I saw on my 1999 track Miata with the same suspension); if I adjust the shock further up, I can actually get the control arms level or angled slightly downward before I run out of adjustment, but it starts to look a little too dune buggy-ish at that height, so I brought it back down to the level in the pictures. I have only driven this around the neighborhood so far, but I’m able to transverse both speed bumps and those huge speed humps with no issues. Once the new ramps I ordered for my trailer arrive I will be able to get a proper alignment done and give you guys better some handling feedback, but based on the control arm angles, I see no reason to think the car will have any ill handling traits. I'm going to post some more pictures in my build thread so as not to derail SteadFast's thread into a spacer discussion, but if Kevin can get you guys a set of spacers, there should be nothing to worry about with using Xidas, V-Maxx or any other short aftermarket coil over on an Exocet. So I'm starting to figure out what to do with my cluster. I'm wondering about using a digital dash. I'll be running megasquirt, does anyone know of a plug/play solution for megasquirt? From what I've seen, the easiest solution is www.aimsports.com/I am going to use tunerstudio.com/index.php/shadowdashmsmenu or and a tablet or RaspberryPi + LCD screen.

You might want to confim, if you don't already know, that the response lag on a bluetooth setup wont' be too bad. I bought one of those bluetooth engine sound generators that hook into the stereo for my Mazda3. Could select a bunch of different engine sounds - I went with Lamborghini. The idea was that since I couldn't hear my car on the track over the noise from everyone else running with load or no exhausts, I could just crank up the stereo to listen for my shift points. (never realized how much I use motor frequency until I ran a stock 3 on the track) Anyway, the lag on the thing made it useless. It was a bout a half second behind what was actually going on.
