I still haven't completed the full registration process. But from what I've read the only thing they are interested in is a PCV valve, which all of our cars have. I may setup a time for CHP sometime soon. Then all I have to do is BAR once I get my body work.

Good to know.
I'll be interested to see how it goes.

Did you get your body panels?

I don't think anyone has gotten body panels.

For registration, do they care if the panels are on? What about fenders?

Thats a really good question. I'm assuming the answer is yes. But you should be able to complete the first DMV trip, and CHP visit without the bodywork being done.

I'd have to try to get it registered without them on, once it's running.

I don't think I've seen you post about this topic in this thread... But how do you insure the car? Do you need a special insurance policy?

It took 3 days of talking to agents and about a week to get the paperwork from AAA. They needed to know the following:
What is the mileage on the car? - 10 miles What is the value of the vehicle? - around $12,000 Does the vehicle have airbags? - No What is the year make and model that DMV will be referring to this vehicle as? - 1960 Exomotive Exocet What type of coverage are you looking for on this vehicle? - Minimal possible.
My insurance premium increased on $93 a year.

That's good to know. I'm with Mercury, and will report how it goes with them. I plan on comprehensive (non collision) & uninsured motorist (there are lots in SoCal), but no collision, since it usually drives the price up.

You have done an amazing job. Love the pictures and videos! If you had to do another one, what would you do differently?

That is a great question. I'd probably take much more time in doing the process. The beauty is in the process.
I would also do something about the heat coming from the trans tunnel. I've heard great things about lizard skin. Perhaps some sort of lizard skin on the bottom and quilted carpet on top... damn, come to think of it I may do that over the winter!

How hot does the tunnel get? Anyone else have a suggestion on brands for heat reflecting insulation?
