5days to go, and some work left to do.
I've booked in the novice class, and not too be big headed, the cars quick. I'm hoping its not too quick for the class.
The intermediate class is full too.
Which leaves the pro lightweight and open wheeled class.. Which the Atom is going into.
Mmmmm..

What a day.. Great value for money, good facilities, camping if you wanted it. Track is fast, and I mean ridiculously fast. Some mega G forces going on. I had my tank flicking between full and empty on the entrance to the straight. Flat out in 4th gear, on the limiter at 7k, moving to fifth when it flattened out. Ill work the speedo out from the rpm, but it's well over 120mph on the bend exit. I was sharing the leightweight category with formula 1st, single seaters, and this heavyweight GOD:- You had to hear this thing.. It was an honour to share a track with it. It's an old restored McLaren F1 car, and loud? Jesus! It's the sexiest thunder you will ever hear. I'm flat out, external wastegate firing away, and this thing is 100m in front. I can't hear my own engine, and I'm sat 1foot away from it. I had a nice battle with an atom, and didn't win. Reason? He could drive, and a seasoned driver at that. Plus, his Atom was a 320hp plus supercharged mk3. It shifted. We played cat/mouse for few laps till I spun out after putting a tyre on the grass on exit of bend. ( caught on camera)!! Finally, a lesson in seat rails.. First session, first corner, a vx220 turbo hit the anchors for the left turn, his seat slid on his runners( not clicked in securely), right forward, his body jammed on the steering wheel. Straight on he went, right down an embankment, into the golf course. It's also on camera;) ill post links when he uploads it

Ha the NZ requirement to fit a baffle in your tank doesn't sound so daft after all Finally, a lesson in seat rails.. Surprised his seatbelt didn't stop that.

True, seatbelts should of sorted it, I'll find the YouTube link;)
And, my fuel system will be getting modified this winter. Top fill fuel inlet, baffle or foam filled, solid state sender, and external GrpA fuel pump. Probably 10mm lines also. I'm feeding 4 x 750cc injectors.

10-12 minute sessions, every 30 minutes. Approx. I sat some out in the afternoon, as I lost my guts after a nice spin. There is a lightweight class D which I went in, which is Westfield, Atom, single seater. I got about an hour on the track, and used a lot of fuel. I worked out my speed from the Rpm in 4th, I was exiting the bend onto the straight at 120mph plus, then 140 past the grand national jumps. Ill link the YouTube vids later on. Good value for money, and plenty of crash space. Plus the fact I don't have to mix with hard tops made the day for me. Try following a formula ford through a corner, then realise how bad your car does handle. Are you coming next year then? 27th May;)
