The Exocet is looking fantastic, and it's nice to see one that will have the go to match the show. What boost pressure will you be running with that setup and what is the expected power output?
My only concern would be engine cooling, have you given this any thought? You'll be introducing a fair amount of heat and have blocked off a good portion of your radiator, do you have a way to monitor ECTs to make sure you keep it safe?
Very inspiring build thread, makes me eager to start my own project

The tune will have a lot to do with how hot the engine get to, lean it out to much and temps will rise. With the aftermarket ecu I have the ability to trim everything to air temp and engine temp. Power wise 200HP ATW should be easy enough to reach, I have a set of 440cc injectors to fit as well. Initially I'll run 5psi as that's what the wastgate actuator is but I will tune it up to 8-10 psi. Later when I build a forged engine I can turn it up more.

What do you think you will have invested in the turbo build (parts),Intercooler, ECU and other bits to install turbo..

What do you think you will have invested in the turbo build (parts),Intercooler, ECU and other bits to install turbo.. I have had the turbo for a while, i paid $350NZD for it, the custom work was done as a contra, I hooked his ute up with audio and he did the turbo, however theres about $4500NZD worth in it. Theres a 5 year unlimited power no crack warranty on the manifold, the work thats been done is just awesome!! The ecu was about $800 NZD after freight and GST

MILESTONE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After completely rewiring the car basically from scratch, well should i say stripping the doner loom, cutting it in half, using the old wiring to create a new loom for the car, adding in some crazy security, timed foot well lighting off the alarm, a gps tracker and multiple immobilisers, push button inanition and start it runs!!!!!!! idle is good, no o2 sensor in so woulds like there is a hole in the exhaust. www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151731856407198&l=5012367207703723626

well.................I went to do the first drive round the car park thing, start up, put foot on clutch and......... nasty noise and almost stalls the engine. This could be a problem, now the gear box needs to come out and the clutch sorted,
A bit of a blessing in disguise, I re used the clutch from the doner car as I was not planning a turbo until later so now that I'm turbo i want/need a better clutch.
New clutch purchased and installed. Im now using a standard organic clutch with a heave duty 40% uprated cover and new bearing.
The problem with the old one is it appears the wrong bearing was used, buggered if i know how it worked at all!!!!! But its all sorted now and i was able to have my first drive, it took a bit to select gears until i gave the clutch a couple of slips and now its happy as. Another step in the rite direction.!!!!

I have been having trouble with the fuel pressure not coming up where I wanted, I have a aftertmarket fuel reg with gauge so i need to set it at 47psi, On the standard pump i set it but then noticed it dropped to about 25psi. I changed it out with a pump out of my old Subaru V7 STI, it was better sitting at about 45psi but I couldn't get any more no matter how far i wound the reg up. So I picked up a walbro 255 and fitted that, WOW straight to 80psi, wound it down to 47psi and its happy as.
I then spent some time with the megasquirt, It runs off it mostly happily but Im still working out a few bugs. Getting closer though!!!!

More things to fix..... well a good excuse to upgrade. One of the coil packs has had a weak spark, well today the other coil pack started to play up with a weak spark to so time to upgrade to Coil on plug. This is a common conversion on these engines and is very easy with great results according to those that have done it. This is a toyota coil pack I started with a strip of alloy 43mm wide (trimmings from doing the floor. After marking drilling, mark and measuring and drilling e.t.c I ended up with a plate, I used riv nuts from the under side for mounts for the coil's to screw down on to and this is the result, well almost, I ran out of time to complete the wiring so thats tomorrows task if I get time.

I finished up the wiring this morning, I also fitted my new wide band gauge and got into sorting the electrical gremlins.

Matt,
Very nice. A there's a very interesting reflection in the centre! Must be very hard to concentrate on all that turbo plumbing with girls like that just sitting around your garage. LoL
