Hi, Well after years of wanting to do a full seasons racing my decision is made and I have placed a deposit for a Rocket race car ready for next season. This year I have followed Rob Bennett driving a Rocket at many of the fantastic circuits this country has to offer and I just can’t stand and watch him having so much fun any more. Rob has driven extremely well and even though this year was more about development mileage he will win his class and may finish 3rd or 4th overall which is a fantastic result, the car has been faultless all season ;D I am also pleasantly surprised that club racing with the 750 Motor Club is not as expensive as you might think. Also the Rocket will do a whole season on one set of tyres and brake pads! So does anyone fancy joining Rob, Patrick from Rogue Motorsport, me and a couple of other guys that have put their names forward for 2013? If we can achieve 14 cars then we can have our own grid of Rockets which is our goal but short of that number we will race in the Sports Specials class. I have put together a spreadsheet showing the cost of the 2012 season so if you are interested in racing then PM me your contact details and I will email it to you. Lets get on track Leighton

My race chassis looks fantastic and is now off to powder coat. Going for gunmetal finish. Have decided to go for a full roll cage. Chassis will then be off to Rogue Motorsport who will complete the build in just 2 weeks. If all goes to plan it will be ready to race at Donington on the 23rd March. Any other potential racing drivers out there then please get in touch. We have more race kits in production and we aim to have a full grid for 2014

That looks Good
I like the full roll cage on a race car, it's not what I think the Rockets about, but on a race car it makes good sense. Lots of extra steel, with more bracing on the sides and rear. Are the web sections over the drivers legs and under the seats standard on Rockets now? or are those just for racing rockets? I like the towing hook at the front and what I guess are light brackets at the back, it's all looking very good
Cheers

Hi Matsmev
The web sections are just for the race cars. Full cage does take from the looks but a lot of drivers we spoke to at the shows would not race without one, so in a few weeks we shall see how it looks fully built. Chassis now powder coated Gunmetal so will sort some more pictures as the build comes together.

No worries about the extra weight of the cage now you have lost so much weight Leighton! The theory I have always adopt is that if a driver feels better protected he may push harder.

Please note that the 750 Motor Club has had to postpone the race meeting scheduled at Donington Park tomorrow Saturday 23rd March due to the snow just in case you were going to come along and support the Rockets racing in the Sports Specials

In my first wet race I finished a respectable 10th out of 21 but the epic drive came from Patrick of Rogue Motorsport who started at the back of the grid so he could get some footage of me and Nick, but he then demonstrates how good the car is in the wet, enjoy the video of race 2

First ever race at Donington, what an awesome GP circuit, had a great start and swapped places with Patrick from Rogue Motorsport a few times, then when he starts to slowly move away I decide to try Craner Curve flat in 4th but was off line and then had a need to change my trousers moment then set about regaining the place I had lost.......finished 9th out of 16 so happy with that and was 4 seconds a lap quicker than my qualifying time
