For cable etc I used www.autosparks.co.uk. They can make you a loom to spec but probably better to order the reels of cable and some conduit tubing and make it up yourself. For the smaller lights 1mm2 cable is fine to use (which was supplied in my loom from RTR) and the item with a bigger power draw had betweem 2-4mm2 cable. Anyway that company can advise you on what you need, or you could just get the loom from RTR. I found I had to add in some cables as I had additional sensors and different placement of the battery. Hope that helps!

Well I got my loom from RTR and I added in a few extra colours. I may have gone a little overboard to be honest but better to have a few spare than not enough. I'll have a check tonight and get some pictures and that should help you. In the RTR loom in total is about 26 1mm2 cables, a battery and an ignition cable. That doesn't include any ground cables to lights or anything...you can either ground to chassis or run an additonal ground cable back to the battery. Will get some more info/pics up tonight or tomorrow for you Either way it is basically figuring out how many wires for the lights you need and any sensors you have for the engine

Here are some pitures of my wiring, I hope it helps. If anything is unclear (I'm sure most of it is lol) just ask and I'll try clear it up Fuse/Relay board: Cable thicknesses: I have the battery in the back so I have run a thick ground to the front and also a slightly smaller power for the lights etc. Probably overkill but better safe than sorry Wires connecting to fuse board and dash: End of cable (rear of car):

Well being useless as I am, I forgot to take photos of the fuse box, it seems pretty sturdy, not undone any of the screws to see if they are made of cheese. The only things that seem a little flimsy are the flasher relays, and possibly the blade fuses, but im not gonna lose sleep over that. The wiring diagram supplied is pretty simple and even gives a guide on am page cable required to make it even more user friendly. It also has a simple guide on how to do the hazard switch for iva which I will take a pic of and post up when I get back to look at it

I meant the solid brackets for the ally pipe, but found your link and emailed them as they don't stock any more

When I spoke to RTR about what clamps they used, they said the Norma jubilee clips is all they use. RTR supplied me with standard screw Jubilee clips but they just don't feel smooth when tightening even unloaded on the bench. I have read posts of builders having to use two to get a moderate seal. From what I have read the bar type as per the link are far superior and seem to be able to seal a hose without flaring required as they clamp more evenly around the hose. Naim did you manage to get a good seal without a flare?

I wont be using jubilee, and I'll be having them beaded.. still trying to source the clamps at work gratis :-) You not got the ability to flare at your workshop at work rob?

Paul: Oh right those ones, ok if you can't get any let me know and I'll see if I have any spare lying around!
Kiwicanfly: I believe with the T bolt clamp, lock washers and locknuts I have a good seal but if you can I would suggest getting the pipes beaded if you can. On my pipes which did have a bead, it does look like a better seal. I have not run the engine that much but once I did the modification to the clamps no leaks so far! For the radiator clamps I am using the Norma jubilee clips and they seem to be ok! I would atleast put two clamps per hose if possible though

You not got the ability to flare at your workshop at work rob? I hate to say it Paul (last time I bragged you flamed me ) but we do, we have a dedicated flaring machine built from an old lathe, flares ss tube in about 10 seconds including loading. I am actually going to do a "research project" on how we can flare 2m long aluminium pipes as I believe there is an large untapped market out there Have a look at our web site, I know you will be keen on the sprayers and valves but 2nd from the bottom MIGHT be of interest also. www.cambrian.co.nz/product-lines.htmlSee anything useful??
