Well after a right carry on I've finally got some mk2 rs2000 track rod ends, I have steering at last.. Couldn't get the tires fitted today so were not rolling. Make a tool to bead the pipes but i just ended up bending a set of mole grips graunching it, even with heat

Re made some radiator brackets, as i can't find the ones I made before, hopefully catch the powder coaster before he does my brackets pedal and charger etc Don't you hate loosing brackets and clips... It's like the magical fook up fairy is playing games some days. Now you see it... Now you remake it, and now you find the original.

Fcuk me, that's something. Its a bit of a gamble, but even a 50 quid repair if required would still keep it good money. Is there 70mm in that space. I would be interested in yours as im on a std mini side mount 50 mm Im worried it wont be enough with the charger fitted

a slow start today, managed to get the wheels on and drop the car off the stands onto the deck, stood on it and bounced around trying to free off the suspension a little. connected the steering so i could move it around. then some menial tasks really, cutting bolts shorter for rear calipers, changing some temps for the grade 10's. i moved the seat back 30mm, i have been trying not to, but it would be an even bigger pain to get into once the second seat and the floor are in. its lower than i remember, sitting in it now, in the driving position, its a proper go-kart.. should be a lot of fun to play around in. Question is.. did i really need a 5k engine + a supercharger.. hmmmmm COURSE I DID!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I THINK THESE LOOK GREAT THROUGH THE WHEELS.. fitted the front bulk head and dressrd it around the top rail. collecting my bracketry from powdercoaters tomorrow. hopefully the motor will be complete to drop in next sat, when i get home from work.. HOPEFULLY....

Hi Paul. Sounds a bit frustrating for you at the moment If your needing any (in situ) viewing my garage is always open, noticed your question on Jacks build regarding front wheel bearing torque setting, the advice i got when i recently replaced my front bearings were tighten them until they feel right, because the split pin hole is well back on the shaft mine had been fitted with a series of washers and a sleeve made from tubing to bring the nut back up against the split pin, it just didn't look a proper job so iv,e replaced all that with a nyloc nut, then i dropped the pads out and took up play until there's no rocking on wheel and it spins freely, if you decide to go down that route the nut is a unf and i got mine from ripon farm services. regards John where is that john? is that the john deere place on the A1 near you? or is it actually in ripon? if you pass it could you possibly pick 2 up. i couldnt get the cap on the centre due to the split pin, even after cutting it down.

Looking really good paul! i love the color of the chassis etc. Are you leaving the panels bare metal? they mark/scratch really easy thats all dont they?!
Thats a cool looking garage too full of skylines and what looks to be a kit car in the back ground?!

Hi paul Looking really good mate getting ahead of us i think really like the aluminium panel work v neat particularly as nobody is gonna see that front bulkhead- I like that ethic. What are you using to cut and finish the edges ? jigsaw ? nibbler . The panels do mark easily we are experimenting with powder coating the panels probably silver metal finish. Must catch up sometime. Jon
