poor progress today, had issues with track rod ends and the RD uprights, got focus ones and the diameter is too large for the top hats provided. Anyone have any ideas on which ones it should be? Sierra, cortina any other random crap.

I had the same issue, gave RTR a call and they sent me a set cost £20.
Did forget however to ask them what they were off though.

The ones I used were off an Austin Maxi I believe!

I didn't use the RD uprights though...so not sure if different ones needed?

The bottom ball joints are for an Austin Maxi. Hope this helps if not too late Jake |

Ah...looks like I was getting confused between the track rod ends and the ball joints....who would've thought I managed to build my own car eh?!

right a little update is in order i suppose, progress is slow due to being continuously let down. For weeks i have been getting my $hit in order ready for my 4 weeks off, just to be let down for the first week by idiots. still no hubs for the drive train end. so been working on spacing the discs exactly on the fronts, due to mine being different. ive had to reverse the bells then space out 1.5mm a couple of pics..   im also pretty pi$$ed off about the track rod end situation, i bought focus ones a while back, presuming they were the ones as no direction was stated anywhere, only to find they are a mk2 escort.. obviously passed the returns date with pages now, so another waste of cash.. |

I have quite a collection of incorrectly ordered items sitting in my garage.
Just been sorting it out now, a good 150-200 quid worth of smaller bits and
pieces now ready for ebay.
it is a bit annoying but I think a large percentage of the screw ups were down to my
own inexperience. Definitely learnt a lot over the duration of the build.
BUT!!, when I look at the rocket sitting in the garage now, fully road legal and built
by me I just can't wait for the good weather.

Ah little Brother your moving fast,have no fear. All my initial kit builds were a masive learning curve. You would expect for the money you pay a decent service with knowledgeable staff,REALLY as if.imagne if we worked liked some of the cowboys out there,no wonder a lot of them change hands so often or trading names.Even some of the top firms or at least most established only find design flaws when they build a demonstrator. Id tell more but not on these pages. Enjoy your Xmas mate.might take out lotus if this rain stops.
