Finally eh Paul?! pleased for you mate as i bet it was getting on your nerves just a fraction?! feels like im marking time mate, still loads to do, but needs a chassis to work to. once it goes i can then just concentrate on building the engine to spec.

Hi Paul, before powder you may want to consider reinforcing the sections that hold the U brackets which the front lower wishbones sit on... I had a very light collision recently and bent the offside front wishbone. The knock also badly distorted these brackets/plates and I feel that this would be avoided by extra steel welded from the open edge of the bracket back onto the chassis or perhaps a cross brace? Upon surveying the damage to the offiside I have noticed that the near side is starting to show signs of deformation - this side suffered no impact in the collision... Has anyone else come across this issue?

Pictures would be a great help, followed by some input from RTR. Maybe it could be a one off? Has it had track days, speedbump exposure? Or just plain fatigue? There's so many factors that could affect this, I saw a post regarding a lower strut brace that Stuart Mills posted, is this related, or do we look at making one for the new mk rockets?

I have been down to the engineers all morning finalising my spec for the bar and a load of seaming and lug removal (pics to follow of new final mode. I would love some input on this as i could get the work done while it is still bare. I was looking to see if webs can be put in there. The bar will be different, I'll leave it there till its done.

I think Mr Mills will be the best to answer this one, but il give you what I know The normal suspension loading has been put into conversation before of which Stuart has had tested. The normal loading on the uprights, wishbones, chassis etc was a slight concearn of mine when I was building my car as I was not sure if the car was capable of taking the amount on torque my car was going to produce - was it capable To be honest I was quite away throught the build before I thought about the loadings. The simple answer was yes and the answer was put to bed quite easily that the car was capable of taking the loadings my car was going to produce easily. With regards the supsension taking a load/bump in a direction which is not common then yes some areas may bend. This does not mean the car is not safe to drive. The cars are built to be light weight so not over engineered in the areas that do not need it - exactly the same as F1 cars - hit them in the wrong direction and they break. Personally I was very happy that the car is built to give me nothing worry about with regards safety. Should you want to put some extra 'meat' in areas that may be fragile should you hit something whith the wheels/suspension areas ?? I think that will have to be up to you Just my 2p worth Hope it helps Jon
