As im no good at web page building etc, I will just add pic's on here as we go, Comments welcome,,,, Finally made a start,,, does anyone think we have excessive Caster angle here, I know we are adjusted to full caster but even adjusted back it looks alot of caster by looking at the angle of the steering connection on the hub??

Fantastic progress Scott! I wished I could get that much garage time Fuel tank looks neat; have you bolted direct to the floor or rubber mounted?

Cheers Joker, Yeh made a tray for it to sit in with drain hole pipe through the floor, It's not fitted yet but will probably mount on Rubber Nylon washers to give i a little clearence and also to level it up as it will sit on the Tunnel as we need it over to give clearence for Fibreglass body panel / bulkhead that we are going to make to fit over the tank Scott

Hey, Yes this is a one-off Chassis Design, built by RTR as an idea, but due to the extra exspense ie many hours labour etc, they wont wont be making any more, unless you have deep pockets,,, As we liked this chassis design we brought this proto type from them, Glad you like, Scott

Hi Scott, Looking good, not long to powder coat now eh! How are you going to fiberglass your box? Are you going to make a negative mould or use the inside of the box? Any reason for the extra height? I was going to keep mine to the height of the side tubes! I'm still learning about fiberglass mould making but srtruggling. Any suggestions?

Mark, Nigel, This isnt the final colour panels are going to be painted, Yes this is the cover for the Fuel tank, It is a bit big but only just covers the tank in depth and it is built to this height to fit the fuel filler cap up and at the side of the car, this may need to be mounted on an extention to get it at the edge of the car, just trying to make a decent looking job suitable for IVA rules,,,,, hoping to make a mold over this then the negative can be made from the mold, still learning about Fibreglass work myself was hoping for a little help from the (right people) and maybe this could become part of the GRP set supplied with the Kits The pictures are not great it looks better than this and once the seats are in it should not stand out that much !!! Peoples comments on this much appreciated Scott

Peoples comments on this much appreciated Scott So what colour are you going for ? or are you holding it back as a surprise Question are you planning on using twin tanks ? If not then why haven't you gone for a small one sided cover ? For me I'm tall long legs and a little to rounded if I'm honest, but I just wonder if this design will be restrictive regarding driver size ? Why couldn't you make a lower box and feed the filler pipe through into and out of the engine cover to meet the requirements ? I'm sure I've see someone doing this on there Rocket. As far as help on fiberglassing remember MEV/RTR have got between them a massive amount of experience and I would hope that they would provide you with as much encouragement and support as you would wish. I do know they have views on this IVA requirement issue and if you've not already talked with them I suggest you do As I said earlier loving the thread and I look forward to seeing you various build solutions. nigel

Nigel, Yeh colour to be a surprise and yet to be confirmed we did toy with the idea of twin tanks but decided againt it, and thought that this larger cover may by usefull for storage behind driver, I see what you mean about the driver size but until we decided on the seats we cant be sure, we are hoping it will be ok have seen the other fuel cap option but slightly concerned Mr inspector may be concerned about it being near a heat source and also we have used that area for expansion bottle etc,,, There maybe a couple of different molds before we get it right, as i say it will look better once made in fibreglass, was hoping for a little help from MEV / RTR on the fibreglass work Scott
