Family duties as far as we know. Fozzies tR1ke is due with us for a few final tweaks and then it will be finished.
Several tR1kes are now being built and Phoenix is catching up vrey fast as we are currently making an exhaust for his.

I sold my bike finally but didnt get anything like I paid for it, I also sold my caravan and was happy to hear that Kitcarcollection in Holland maybe interested in buying some from me. I am currently on with my next caravan, so if all goes to plan I hope to order my TR1KE sometime early next year with RTR.
Have they sorted a reverse out for it yet?
Cheers
Nick

Has there been any thought to putting a proper flat car tire on the back wheel? I imagine traction is a big deal seeing as there is only one wheel pushing the thing.

I am sorry but I don't think a "flat car tire" would get better traction than any other kind of tire that has air in it. Now a car tire brought up to the proper pressure would definitely get loads more traction, which is why RTR has one on their demo and also recommends one on their kit. Check out the videos and gallery for the tR1ke!

Compared to a Campagna T-Rex the rear tyre is half the width, and this defo makes a difference, when I took my spin out in a new T-Rex in Daytona, the acceleration was incredible, no wheelspin at all, just pure acceleration, when I took a spin in the TR1KE the power was fantastic, it did want to spin the back wheel in first gear rapidly accelerating to 70MPH, but I think if you are sensible (And you really need to be in this thing) then smooth acceleration is achievable and the fun factor is second to none. Besides, the cost of the MEV built by the buyer is between £7000 to £9000 I reckon, a T-Rex will set you back the best part of £35,000 new and £20,000 second hand. Although I would love a T-Rex, the MEV for me, ticks all the boxes.
Need to sell more caravans to fund mine, but I will get there.

Well I am sad to say Carl did sell his Tr1ke to me a few days ago.
He never got the chance to finish it due to the family job commitments and I am sure he is mad and sad (his words) to see it go.
I just want to say he is a great guy and more than helpful in the sale as I had not made it easy for him but he went above and beyond to sell me the kit. I hope he finds the time to get another kit some day soon and doesn't regret this too much.
I wanted a Tr1ke well before it was for sale but RTR said a years wait so I ordered a Rocket. I have still got the Rocket and love it to bits but it now has to go to make room in the garage. As for the trike I have no plans to change his colour Scheme or any plans that Carl made. I have no plans to finish it super fast but try to have fun along the way after all the build is half the pleasure or at least that's what I'll say in January freezing cold hoping for the 3rd attempt at a little bracket to work this time!!!!
Oh well here goes again, if you hear anyone after a Rocket let me know.
Cheers Ian

Hi Ian, congrats with your new tR1ke! The colorsheme matches great!
Ask at RTR if there are new wishbones used on the MK2 version. I read earlier versions have some roll issues while mine hasn't. the upgrade is worth reconsidering because Hyperpro engeneers were stunned how well mine corners.
good luck! Erik

Thanks Erik, I will be interested to find out what changes were made from No1 to present and see if RTR can help.
I like the colour after having a black rocket it makes a nice change.
Are you or any Tr1kes going to the Donnington show late Aug.
I was thinking I might go even try to sell the Rocket there.
Thanks Ian

Hi Ian, I'll be going to donny show for the weekend in my tR1ke if the weather's ok. There's quite a few changes to the chassis since yours but you won't have any stability issues on the road so not really worth fitting the later wishbones. The main change Rtr made was at the rear to make it possible to remove the clutch cover without dropping the motor. Looking at the pic of yours it doesn't have any mounts for the headlights welded to the top shocker mounts, not a big problem though for a seasoned kit builder like yourself.
Good look Kevin

I think Erik's corners really well because ihe is only using a 5th of the power of the engine As far as mounts go for headlights, I believe that you have the very first chassis after the demo trike, so it might have a few teething problems, but like Slugshot says, nothing to a seasoned builder like yourself, I know RTR will sell you some mounts as they were proposing to do for me for my extra wide Double Oval headlights, but in the end they welded the brackets on the chassis for me. I am hoping to be at Donny, i'm coming down after work on Saturday.

That is great info guys, I hadn't spotted the headlight mounts but as you say it's no biggy IMHO. All the problems I had with the rocket were sorted with forum or RTR's help as I really believe they just want to see happy customers and cars on the road.
Do you both have reverse and is it a necessity or not as I am not sure there is any room for it on the old chassis?

I have reverse on mine and don`t use it that much. It is not needed for msva. I`m hoping to get to Donnington too, but not sure which day.

I'd like to note my headlights are a tad to close to the bonnet and removing the bonnet means to losen the headlights (+ adjusting beam later when the bonnet is mounted back again). Id would be great if the headlight brackets would be 1" longer as stock.
I guess changes tot the wishbones haven't been made for a reason?
Not updating my thread doesn't mean I'm not enjoying my Tr1ke. I have no interest to buy a GoPro and I'm in no need for mods because it's sound as it is from the start so no news to post. I have by far no interest for track time (if we were allowed to take trikes on track).

There's quite a few changes to the chassis since yours but you won't have any stability issues on the road so not really worth fitting the later wishbones. The main change Rtr made was at the rear to make it possible to remove the clutch cover without dropping the motor. Tr1ke has a very low point of gravity. When driven on the edge it will glide over the front wheels. I agree with Kevin, absolutely no stability issues. Front suspension springs original supplied with my kit and the rear spring from my donorbike all were way too soft. My personal experience: progressive springs and tweaking their setting improved suspension and handling significant. I like the tweaking of my tR1ke as much as building it.
