Hi Slug, Can you post a sketch of your coolant sheme? The double reservoir caught my attention. I am on a learning curve here and i am about to order the silicone hoses and Alu reservoir. I didn't notice you added the screens. Nice to read they are effective. Have you found the final shape yet? thanks in advance, Erik

I hope you can understand what goes where Eric. there are probably other ways to do it but it works for me. So far its done 700 miles without any issue. As for my screen the wider one i made works well and is still on, it keeps my visor clear of bugs. I might leave it clear because its less visible than a smoked one. For you though i think you might want a taller screen, having noticed that when you took a pic of yourself sat in your kit you sit quite a lot higher than me. My GRP seats are very low and I'm a short arse

That's a easy sketch to read! THX!!
I have paid minimal interest in the cooling until now and tough I am not familiar with the route of the coolant I guess the 25-8-25 T-piece could be swapped for 8-8-8 on the bottom blue line close to the engine right?
It's good to see you added the clear bottle for overflow indicator. I assume this is an open bottle with an additional coolant dump line? I am wondering why I am in need for a pressure cap with release valve in an open system?
Need to get me some black 8mm hose. The costs of those silicone adds up fast!
You are having fun with your tR1ke!!! Can you tell me the fuel consumption of this engine?
I ordered the RTR screens for my kit. i guess these are the same as used on the R6 Tr1ke in an older thread. I do expect them to be an estatical accesoirie only but they look nice. I hope to keep my helmet on the brains LOL!!

Yes i don't see it being a problem putting the T piece in the 8- 8-8 pipes, the only difference is that it circulates even when the thermostat is closed. The expansion tank has a small hole in the the cap to stop it vacuuming. When the pressure release cap on the header tank opens (this only happens if the temp gets very hot) I disconnected the fan to see it work, it released a small amount of coolant into the expansion tank and sucked it back up into the header tank when it cooled down. What i mean by the rad having no pressure release valve is it doesn't release to air. The only cap that opens is the one on the header tank that releases into the expansion tank. On the R1 rad we have i blocked the 8mm fitting pointing forward and used the 8mm fitting that turns to the rear. I hope this makes sense.

Thx for the effort to give some side notes. This will make it a very simple modification now. Hope to get coolant tubes tomorrow. I am canceling all silicone hoses now and plan to use regular coolant hose to reduce the amount of hose clamps to a minimum (read: minimize possible leaks) and minimize the color blue in my project . The alu tubes in the tunnels will be discarted as well. Did you use a new cap on the radiator with no release valve or did you modify the original cap. at this moment I don't see how I could do this mod. thx in advance, erik

Hi Eric i used the alloy coolant tubes in the tunnel because they take up a lot less space than the silicone or rubber hoses. I used reinforced flexible silicone hoses to connect the alloy tubes to the rad with only a joint at either end and also the 25mm and 13mm fittings at the rear. The header tank kit came with a cap to replace the original. Its from CBSonline.co.uk So far i have averaged between 30-35 miles mpg,It would do more but who cares

Up to now, mine does approx. 7 lit on 100km = 1:14.

The consumption seems to be acceptable.
I am looking forward to see if the tubes create more space in the tunnel. After all, at both ends the tubes and clamps are on which doesn't help a lot to get a compact bundle.I have given this some thought as well and making a bundle of the tubes i think this could affect the cooling efficiency? After reading about cooling issues and leaks I am getting more picky on small details like this.
hoses are in tha house! I'll post progress in my thread later.
br! Erik

Here is my dip tank fuel sender, its similar to the one in the venom steed. It is a float in a tube that goes the full depth of the tank. At first i didn't think it was worth fitting something that takes up valuable space inside the tank but by carefully calibrating the gauge as i filled the tank 1 litre at a time i know quite accurately how much is in. So after using it for a week i can actually do more miles knowing how much is left, its also very stable so the gauge doesn't fluctuate like the float on an arm type. The only thing that concerns me is fuel spilling onto the wires when re fueling so ill probably make a cover for it.

Great Item and nice installed! I think I will use the milage on the dash for starters but I am open for modifications if needed ;P Keep in mind not to corner too fast on an empty tank without a swirl pod.

Hi Eric, i wondered how long it would be before someone commented on the fact i do not use a swirl pot

Hi Slug! Holy cow!! is that sound real loud or do I have to turn down the volume? Too bad you only can run a few gears on that strip. can you post some pics of the rear part of the engine. I'd like to see your clean work and which hoses can be discarded. I assume you removed reveral before you send your tR1ke to RTR? Thinking about removing the stationary adjuster as well. br, Erik
