OMG. just went back from the painter and there are about 100+ shades of antraxite. It took a halogen light and 2 people to confirm the right paint on that wheel.
At the tire centre I was quite shocked to see Momocorse wheels in silver! Having a closer look at the wheel made me judge this wheel looks a bit too robust for my taste and I am more than happy with my Wolfrace now! The order of tires has been taken but chances are these yokohama and marangony are not in stock because they are not ordered too often. Hope to have good news tomorrow.

Why marangoni if also reliable tyres are available ? There must be a reason they don't have them in stock ;D At least this is what my tyre supplier sais to me Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using proboards

I like them for aestatics and the demo vids show they handle not too bad. They don't slide or lift the tires on the track cornering on footage. Luckely your tire supplier knows what tires are needed for light cars The rating of the tires are for traditional cars which weigh 200+% more as our cars do so what use are these specs anyway. But at least it is not a bad tire from sheet. They only perform below average in rain and winter but I am not orientated in both conditons anyway. Give me reasons to chose the superexpensive Toyo? Because they are soft as snot?

Yes, the Toyo very soft indeed. But when on temperature, is gets really sticky. And even then I can loose grip if I push it a little. At this moment, I would not even dare to mount another tyre. At least, for the way I use the tR1ke.
Btw, on the front I have Dunlop sportmaxx. Those are very normal road tyres.

Hmmm... I thought I was on pace but guess what: only 1 yokohama in stock at the distributor, no Marangony. The tire shop needs to deal with the manufacturor now, not their depot. However, I managed to get me 8 chrome wheelnuts and high grade bolts and imperial nuts needed for the balance bar just before closing time. So just for now sloooow progress

Question:
Did you bolt the swingarms hard to the chasis brackest or light tension to the locking nuts? I am reconsidering nylon washers for protecting the powder coating which cancelles out hard bolting.

Hi Eric, I tightened mine to the recommended torque setting for the r1, 125NM.
I don't understand what you mean regarding the lock nuts. I used the original r1 swing arm bolt but added a alloy spacer behind the original washer and nut to clear the chassis. Cheers Kevin

Ah now I understand, I have mine tight but it initially caused a lot of friction with the poly bushes, but now they are not too bad. I think a good modification would be to replace the bushes with bearings but the wishbone ends would probably need to be re designed with machined ends.

I was thinking that is the best option as well. I'll pre mount the steel bushes first and use a heatgun to warm up the coating. Hope it will not crack. No luck on the tires.The vendor couldn't get them at their depots and from the factory is +30 euro so I need to buy them online somewhere. Heck, even the hardware store print "neverending project" on the invoices now LOL!

Hi Eric, I carefully opened the wishbone mounts with a rubber mallet and the powder coating was fine. If you can't get your first choice of Tyre's and aren't bothered about having the best grip, the toyo t1r looks good and are very good value. Cheers Kevin

Yipee! The wishbone is back home! RTR corrected the angle and did a fine job on it. The coating is in perfect condition. On the net I ordered the Yokohama Parada 205/40 R17 84W XL RPB asymmetric and Marangoni Zeta Linea 205/40 ZR17 84W XL. They are significant cheaper as at the tire centre but they exclude mounting+balancing costs. Luckely, my car mechanic has a mounting and balancing machine so I do expect some visible progress next week. For now I stick with these tires. maybe next time when you visit Holland I may change my mind , They do look pretty neat tough! Hope to show some pics soon from the front side. Need to mount the wishbones first this weekend. greets! Erik
