Hello mog'ers,
thought i would put up some pic's of how the build has come along over the last few months, iv been working on the car for 18 months when i can grap 5 minutes so progress has been a bit slow but im now very close to first test drive :-)
today iv mostly been working on the exhaust...
with the build now on a fairly tight budget i am building my own exhaust system, so far its the manifold from a 1.4 ford fiesta zetec se, the cat from a 1.6 puma zetec se, this bolts straight to the fiesta manifold but the bend and flexi pipe coming off the cat hits the chassis rail so i had to cut this off and weld it back on in the right direction.
i have then welded on a 2" 180 Deg mild steel bend and them a short piece of flexi pipe which i had in the shed already, im planning to use an R1 can as a back box and then its job done!
If i can get an end can for less than £45 then the whole system has cost me £100 :-)
this obviously isn't the best for performance but it sounds amazing and has saved me some cash.
all coolant pipes are now connected and don't leak ;D wiring at the back is on-going, it all works but i keep finding ways to make it look neat and keep it away from any heat source.
(when i started it looked like this)
coolant pipes at the front...
flexi lines for brakes and clutch...
how the front looks at the moment, my work shop floor is mud so its hard to keep it looking shiny and new, plus the cat gets on the bonnet with muddy feet
