All stickered up and ready to go. Will be on show at Detling this weekend for all the budding race drivers. Will be at Castle Combe on Friday the 27th May for further testing following shock/spring upgrade. The first 20 will be sold at £3000 plus VAT. This includes a race spec kit with steel floors and a full cage. Just add a 1.8 MX5 donor. Now that is a low cost race car!!!!!!!!! Attachments:

Looks good.
Why is it so much more expensive than the standard kit, is it just the cage or are there other differences?
It would also be useful if you could list exactly what else is needed to build a race car - that cant be found in the kit or donor.

Getting in is quite simple, just climb through the top! The race car spec includes an MSA spec cage, chassis plates to bolt in the cage, steel floors and a bolt on rear bar. Other than a rain light and an MX5 you will need an extinguisher and battery cut off switch and an FIA approved (in date) harness and a decent seat. Attachments:

Excellent so the kit includes a seat, shocks, wheels, tyres & braided hoses. That and the cage/steel floor explain the £1000 increase over the road kit.
Is the nudge bar the one shown in the flyer or will the finished product better protect the exhaust in the event of a nudge?
Would also be interested to know what tyres they are being run on, has this been decided yet?

Wheels/tyres/seat/braided hoses/shocks are from the donor, tyres are Hankook. The rear bar is to prevent tyre to tyre interlock/contact.

The car will be testing/set up this Friday at Castle Combe. Monday will see the car in action for it's first race of the season. It is entered in the Nippon Challenge race which will show how it performs against MR2's, Hyundai's, etc. Just need to pop a water pump in, oops!!!

Acting on a Tip-off from Matt I was able to pop into the circuit and grab some quick pics of the Exocet testing. I only saw it for 1 lap so variety is limited I'll be at Combe on Monday for the race meeting so will keep an eye out for it then. cheers Kilv

Thanks Steve, great pictures again
the Exocet was consonantly getting lap times of 1:22. A good afternoon watching it go through its paces.
Thanks to MEV for an excuse to spend an afternoon at ' Combe
Cheers
