The bulkhead of my tR1ke is empty. I mean nothing is attached or mounted to it. Because of that it resonates with the engine and the small M4 bolds come off. I added aluminum ribs to the bulkhead, using riv nuts and glue and glued some acoustic damping material to it. Before: During1: During2: After:

This evening i took the tR1ke out together with mrs edwinwl.
Bulkhead is fine. Noiceless.

Today took my tR1ke to a specialist ( www.tovami.com) for optimizing the carburator settings of the tR1ke engine. Diagnose: Almost all ponies are still there. :-) At lower rev (<6000 rpm), fuel/air mix was too rich. Chain of the tR1ke is worn and needs to be replaced. Theory: Normally is 10-13% is lost into the drive train. So 144,7bhp measured at the wheel => almost 160bhp at the engine. The tR1ke carburetors got new longer needles to correct this. No power gain, but better fuel economy at lower revs. Final some fine adjustments tot the Exup valve. Fuel economy now is: 8,3 L/100km (12km/l) Will see what new fuel economy will become... Hi Edwin,
I think your dyno time has confirmed the results I got when I set mine up using an exhaust gas sensor with a digital gauge on the dash, the std setting is too rich at low throttle opening. I fitted smaller pilot jets but kept the std needles and just adjusted them to the weakest setting.
My exhaust gas sensor also showed how far out the std carb settings are, because once the speed picks up and the air box doesn't get the air as it would on the r1 the bodywork fitted.

Hi Kevin! Ok, now plain English so the non native English can understand: (If I understand you correctly) On your tR1ke you have corrected similar low rev rich setting differently, but also succesful.
I assume at highway speed, airbox intake has relative under pressure because of tR1ke aerodynamics. Engine is running rich again? How far engine is out? What are your measurements?
Is a F1 air scoop the only way to correct this? Like you have on you tR1ke?

Hi Edwin, My donor r1 had a 138 main jets and std jets are 130,I didn't experiment with the smaller jets instead I ducted air to the bottom of the airbox to help correct the setting at speed. This was a quick fix because I had plans to make a bigger air scoop which I knew would need far bigger jets.

tR1ke is equipped with a new chain.
New fuel consumption with my tR1ke: 7 l/100km (Old fuel consumption: 8,3 l/100km)

That's a big improvement in economy, your old chain was very worn to make that difference so I imagine it will now feel a lot smoother to drive.

Indeed: new chain makes the tr1ke go smooth. Much less noise and no vibration.
Improved fuel consumption is because of optimized air-fuel mix.
