The low boiling temp of fuel. It is vapourising faster than you consume it. Even when parked the fuel fumes are expanding in a closed tank.
have a look at the Demo tR1kes. They have an open tank system with breather pipes facing downwards. I was amazed this is street legal.

Increased pressure is also an increased boiling point. Ordered parts. Will see.

After some weeks, today had some time to do some improvements. Gear change was ok but not perfect. The pivot point got wobbly and caused free play. Old situation. Original single pivot point was made of an old microwave door hinge. (believe it or not) New situation I used two rod ends for a very stable pivot. With this construction the driver has much better feeling when changing gear. This evening painted the parts. Tomorrow final assembly.

Hi Edwin
It looks like your new gear linkage has a longer arm, is this to give you an easier but longer movement when gear changing if so it might help getting neutral if you had and difficulty before.
I like the clear side screens how are you fastening them to the chassis.
Cheers Kevin

Hi Kevin, For the gear change, the ratio is the other way. Most important, there is no free play. And also I can drill more holes to experiment with a good ratio.
Fixing of the sides are best explained by pictures. Will upload them tomorrow.
Cheers, Edwin
Btw: Dutch weather is really rubbish.

Good leverage. The angles are a better match now. Best is 90 degrees. You should have some differential now as well but by far less as the original setup. Looking forward to the side skirts mounting solutions!

The screen still has protection foil on both sides. At the top I have inox steel piano hinge ( Dutch: RVS piano schanier) fixed to my dashboard.
At the bottom I plan to make some M4 rivnuts.

Hi Edwin
I like the fuel cap straps...There is nothing more embarrassing than having to get on your hands and knees to retrieve a cap from under the tR1ke especially when there's a crowd of people watching.
