Good idea(bay)! As soon as I know what parts to get rid of (I certainly do'nt want to sell stuff I might need later on), I will sell them.

The engine is out! My hands were to greasy to hold my camera. So I took pictures later. Now the boring period starts of cleaning parts, reorganizing the garage to have more space and wait for the kit to arrive.

The beer is already finished ? (By the way, I bought exactly the same trolley as you did to place the engine on... ). But during waiting, I suggest yo already try to find and collect the parts that are needed. Saves you a lot of waiting later on...

Likely the beer will cheer up the boring work, next few weeks. I bought three of these trolley's. So the car can be maneuvered around easily. A friend of mine has nice vintage Ford RS wheels. I am not sure they will fit. But we will see. For me building the car will not be a race but a part of the hobby. I will take my time....

It is certainly no race. Just take your time and make it just the way you like it. That racing part will be done later

The sale of the donor R1 really starts now. Looks like the sale activity is equal to the weather. Donor is on it's way to the Netherlands.

The kit has arrived and the build has started. Starting with the floor. When finished the tR1ke will be dismantled for paint job. Till that time all fixings will be screwed or welded. No riv-nuts, for the moment. First sitting, test 123 Made a trolley to have a bit movability of my project.

Because of easy accessibility, I did the preparation of the fuel tank mount after that. I have extended the floor, so later on I can mount all kind of items on to it. 1st stage fuel pump, fuel lines, guiding for items entering the center tunnel, etc. After positive testing I removed tanks are stored them away. They will be finally installed, much later in the project.

Nice job! I am thinking about adding an air duct for air cooling of the exaust pipes also. Can be made easily inbetween the two tanks. As soon as I have something I will show you.

While all the English tR1ke builders were recovering from the wedding party yesterday, we the Dutch builders continued our build. (Officially today we have our National Queens day as well.) Anyhow today's work was fitting the front suspension: (Found out I have received two left side bearing houses.) A friend of mine helped me with mounting the engine. After some tweaking the engine fitted. Also fitted the front half of the exhaust. While drinking a beer we also did some brainstorming about using the original donor battery and electronic holder. I like this idea. At 17:15, we called it a day...

Sounds like you need some more time to recover from yesterdays wedding.... About the steering: While finishing the beer we checked the pedals and steering column. RHD: the steering colomn goes between gas and brake pedals. This is the original design. LHD: the steering colomn goes between clutch and brake pedals LHD will be a very tight fit. We will see.
