Moving right along, sort of. Got the fuel filler located, using a PERKO brand angled marine filler tube and cap, mated to a gates 1.5 inch hose with a 90 bend. It seemed like a great plan, but it's always something. One step forward and then one step back! It tooks just fine, but the PERKO overflow tube is 5/8ths ID, doesn't mate to the one on the tank which is 3/8ths. The distance between them is so short, there's not much room to play with. Back to the drawing board... here's how I solved the mis-matching problem: create an "ell" fitting using barbed hose connectors - one size barbed fitting for each hose's ID. BTW there are pics on the MEV owners group facebook page.

This past couple of weeks have been dedicated to other work on the old homestead, but some progress was made.
I had originally decided to use the stock seats and belts, but I failed to have the proper brackets welded in when I ordered the chassis. As I was already powdercoated and did not want to weld, I switched to four point belts. PRP Harnesses 2" 4 Point 2 Pack (Black) came in from Amazon and were installed. I also had to pull the seats out in order to remove the stock seat belt clasp from the stock seat.
Orders for the manx-style windshield and exomotive's (enthuzacar) exhaust have not arrived, so I'm pretty much at a standstill for a few days...

My manx style windshield arrived, broken. After replacing the glass locally, it was installed without much trouble. .

Read your updates with much anticipation. I imagine you finished it and stopped posting b/c you're out driving...at least I hope so.
I see you are in Nor Cal. Where are you? I am considering buying a kit and would love to see a completed car. Would you be willing to show it to me? We Live in Arroyo Grande, near Pismo Beach, but we spend our summers on the Sacramento River Delta near the town of Walnut Grove. Maybe I can catch you sometime this summer.
Thanks, Bill

After months of delays, Dabeast is FINALLY running and wired properly. Apparently I fried my stock ECU which has been replaced, by megaSquirt pro and instrumentation upgraded to a touch screen panel. I outsourced all of that high tech work, which was part of the delay. Then, we moved from the country into the big city. My work area is much smaller now, but now that the end is in sight; the rest is all done in the driveway. Working out the filler neck, and the wipers now.

The exomotive fenders went on this week, complete with reinforced bracketry. It's looking complete. While figuring how to add emergency flashers, I managed to mess up the turnsignals which had been working. I'll get on that issue right away. The manx windshield with wipers will go on once I sort out the lights. The end is in sight!

The turn signals are working once again. Why they stopped after they had been working is still a mystery. May some Lucas gremlins migrated over from our jag sedan. I shifted the 12v power source to another channel on the control module, and they are working correctly. On another front, the manx temporary windshield now has wipers attached, that work and park. There's material to remove to even up the wiper shaft lengths, but otherwise it's ready to mount for the BAR inpection.
