I am very tempted. As you say the Expert kit would make the most sense for us. Even thinking if I should get an MX5 as a test bed.

Spotted these at the Stoneleigh show and snapped a photo for future reference. After picking up a little extra cash this month decided to get an order in while the funds were available. I have ordered the seat on the left in the same configuration, Intatrim did offer to customise any way I wanted but I have yellow belts so thought keep it simple and go all black. They will not be fitted until IVA has been done.

Nice !
What seat model is it, getting ready to do the same, was hoping Intratrim were going to be exhibiting at the upcoming Manchester Classic Car Show so that I could look at material colours.
I don't have any seats for IVA so would like to buy my final IVA compliant seat choice with removable headrests so that I can run without when carrying no passenger.

The base is the Challenger seat. I have ordered with the headrests and runners.

I asked them to supply exactly as the seat on the left so i should have the diamond stitch on the seat. I told them there is no rush for them as i am not fitting before IVA but as soon as they arrive I will get some photos up

The car is looking great, one of the best replicate I've seen.
If you don't mind me asking where did you source the quilted material from?
Cheers

Got the diamond stitch material from ebay, I also bought some thin foam and glued on the back with spray adhesive to give it some stiffness.

Mirrors on. Got good rear vision as went for the convex glass. Made up the brackets from some steel tube and scraps of steel plate and finished with a wrinkle paint. I got the idea from one of the original cars. Any chance you could show me how you made the mirror brackets and where the mirrors were sourced?

I think these are the mirrors, Clicky, I remember I swapped out the first set I got for the larger size and convex glass but definitely made by SPA. The arms are trial and error with bits of steel. Basically some steel tube, steel plate and a couple of captive nuts welded in. They took a couple of hours per side and left to right are not identical but made to fit. Bit of filler to smooth out the welds and loads of wrinkle finish paint. I was pleased to get them finished and wouldn't fancy making another set.

I expect like most things on the replicar no two are exactly the same so off site build is not really an option. I was interested in seeing the type of bar and plate used, and of course the mirror make (they really do look the part). As yet I haven't done anything in steel on the car, ali everywhere, and I'm certainly not up to welding aluminium so need to buy in some bar and plate and get some gas for the mig. Not much to show in terms of photo interest on my build but done quite a bit in last couple of weeks making sure all components on engine I need before connecting up the electrics (starting on this tomorrow).

After some reading it seems Aluminium brazing may be an option for construction of my mirror mounts, have you ever tried Ali brazing? Is it susceptible to vibration?

I have done some aluminium brazing, it is really easy to do, just get clean surfaces and rough then up, melt on the metal and not under the flame. Get it too hot and the brazing material you have already applied will melt and your piece will fall apart. I used this technique to make some covers for the back of the harness mounts. If you have a good join it will definitely stand up to some vibration.

Just read the latest on Deborah build (2) and saw your post about the tyres and speedo feed adjuster/converter, did you buy the kit from Oz?
