Is this the behind the headrest hole after the box section ? Have you still got got the donor mx5 bolts or are they the ones that are short?
I didn't get any seat belt bolts in my kit and I think like you I'll need new bolts, think demon tweets had a few sets. What did you order if you don't mind me asking ?
Bit ahead of myself im still fighting electrics issues.

Hi John. Got the belts from Kitspares, they have a cheaper belt (4 point) with the correct fittings for our kit. It comes with bolts which are fine for the fitting on the transmission tunnel but the fixing on the outer side has box section in front of it. The MX5 belts had spacers which can be used to raise the belt to clear the bit of box section the seats are bolted to. The rear fixing needs a longer bolt, I tried a 100mm bolt but with spacers in you don't get enough thread clear of the nut so the next size I could get was 120mm. I usually get bolts from Namrick. I have ordered M12 size which means the spacers with the belts need opening slightly, the MX5 spacers are fine and they fit in the welded tube behind the seats well. If I have all the bolts ordered correctly I can send you the part numbers, you can probably get them cheaper on ebay but the Namrick site is easier to find the correct sizes. You need to get the matching thread size nuts. I'll get some pics sorted when I have them fitted.

Another little update. The interior work has been slow and has now stopped as I am waiting for some more snap fasteners, you can see the pop rivets doing a temporary job. I wanted to get one side fixed so I can get a little tension in the material before I cut the other side. Hoping for a delivery tomorrow. Belts are in, the fixing tube at rear is nowhere near center of the seat but the fit feels ok, the shoulder belts are close to end of adjustment but do the job. The yellow is a little bright but I figured it would compliment the painted nose and the car could do with a little more colour. And I made a headrest for the body. A little ambitious for my eBay sewing machine and complete lack of operator skills but YouTube is a marvelous teacher, this is version 2. I will have enough materials left over to make some more if anyone wants some. This is not an offer of manufacture, just the materials Still hoping to get the body on soon but I am away working from end of week so the build will get a rest.

Little update. Just pulled the car out for a rinse, was very dusty. Been a funny couple of weeks, jobs taking an age and slow progress. Got version 2 of the screen fitted, fitted the filler cap and mounted the body. Got the 350mm height for the rear lights but really had to lift the body up to get it. Hoping to have all the rear finished next week so I can look at fitting the boot cover. Bought some hinges from India over the net for the rear, they will need some modification before fitting but the price was good. Still loads to do despite the finished look the car is getting.

Been ages since an update, this is the first in weeks. To use all the kit car builder excuses, I have been really busy, been away, family commitments etc etc. In fact some of the above are true but I have still been chipping away but small changes. I now have one door hung, its was awful and I am not looking forward to the other side. I have the catch mounted in the door but still need to do the release handle. Been looking at other solutions to the MX5 handle but nothing yet. Has anyone else looked into this? Nearly finished the headlight covers. Should of made the green border deeper but will do for now, I have also added a false fastener for symmetry. In the photos they are not tightened up but you get the idea for the finished look. Hoping to get the side screen cut and fitted to my hung door soon, finish off the light covers, hang the other door and maybe get the hinges on the boot. I am part way through finishing the rear bulkhead as I split it in two parts.

Can you use some kind of a cable pull for the door latches release..Cable with rubber tube over it..Fiber glass a hook forward inside door for the loose end of cable. Should look vintage.. Headlamp covers look good. Slow and careful is good it will be worth it in the end..

Time to show that I have been doing some bits on the build and it hasn't been abandoned. I have finished the rear bulkhead, behind the seat belt mounts I have made an aluminium cover that is lined with carpet so it seals from the boot. The panels are held on with Velcro so can be removed if required. Boot lid on hinges and rear lights complete. I do need a brighter bulb for the rear fog and the reversing light is dead. I am hoping the reversing light is just a reversed plug on the gearbox but not investigated yet. Lock in for the boot lid, it holds it tight so no vibrations. My next job is fixing the bonnet down. I have looked into loads of options and bought all sorts of bolts and fittings but given up on them. My current plan is to reverse the bolts holding the body down and securing them with some threaded tube, leaving enough free thread to screw in another bolt from the outside of the bonnet. Anyone else overcome this issue or had a bright idea on fixing the bonnet?

Nice update.. Like the clean look of the tail end with smaller lamp on outside lamps.. Have you sealed the boot space floor and sides yet to be water proof. For your reverse lamps check your meter fuse it feeds the switch on trans. Ever thought about putting the battery in the boot with a bracket below what would be floor with it out of the way with a hatch over it..Also in boot a switch on positive cable for storage and thief prevention. It would clean up the cockpit.

Hi gwnwar
Current plan is to get it built, through IVA and on the road. Next part is to have some fun and get some miles on it. While I am using it I will be collecting parts for the second part of the build, probably body off, complete redesign of the dash, new seats, steering wheel, panel out the boot and completely enclose the wheels. I will also relocate some of the bits that became awkward to get to after body was fitted, maybe a battery move and probably a new exhaust. And the one I cant decide on is will it get an engine upgrade, maybe just more power or even a larger unit, this might end up being part three of works but still not decided if I go down that path. I have a friend who owns an engineering firm that specialize in race car prep, especially MX5 cars. Research will continue on this one.
