Hi Khum, I live in Northern MN, and am looking at building an exocet. Would love some guidance on how to get the thing registered and such. You will need the following: - A declaration of reconstruction (ask the DMV and they will send you a copy) - The certificate of origin from Exomotive (should come with the kit or car) - A bill of sale (if you purchased it from a third party) - All original receipts for key components (engine, transmission, etc.) this is to verify that you are not using stolen parts. - Finally, you will need to have it inspected (any place they do repairable inspections is fine and your local DMV should be able to tell you where to go for that), this is NOT a safety inspection only for the purpose of identifying receipts for key components and that they have been installed on the car.
If the Inspector gives you a hard time, be polite, but give it back, his only job is to give a pass or fail based on matching VIN #'s and receipts.
Hope this helps.....

Thanks. Am about a year out from it being relevant, but figured I'd jump on the opportunity to ask someone who had done it.

Ah, you got the purple one! I saw that one on eBay too. Any chance you want to share what you paid for it?

I traded a modified MX5 for it, and as stated above it was a basket case and I would not recommend a purchase from the previous owner as a result; on the other hand, I had a blast going through it and discovering all of the hidden issues and fixing them, the car is now drive-able, road legal and presentable to the public! The list of changes, corrections and upgrades would take up to much space, another reason I will keep it before letting it go on the cheap. Thanks,
