Not sure of the best place to put this but thought it might be worth pooling some of our more specialist tools. All loans would be between mates, with no warranty given or implied.
Happy to start off with a 2t engine crane and load leveller, also any of the large sockets you could want for a Ford Focus and ball joint tools.
All located just outside Derby.
Pm f you'd like to borrow them for your build/strip or post below if you have an offer to make.
Moderators: feel free to move to the most appropriate area.
Thanks

I had a similar thought previously when seeing the same questions come up over and over regarding things like stripping the rack.
My thought was to buy the tool off the last person at cost so if it gets damaged it's your problem then you sell it to the next person when finished meaning true cost is zero,
This will only really be suited to small tools that get used once or twice then have no further use.
It might mean someone gets stuck with it if there is no next person but is no worse than having to buy it anyway.

Yeah, I'd be happy to buy a brake flaring tool, pipe bender, chassis number stamp from a member if they didn't want to loan. The engine crane is going to be kept long term though.

This is great idea. I ended up buying a load of tools at a cost of thousands, would have been great to borrow some of them. mawdo81 : I don't know if you need a brake pipe bender, but I have one I never used, does 6/8/10mm pipes. I used braided all the way, so you're welcome to it for the price of postage if you need it.

I'd be careful on the DTI, delicate, easily damaged. Just need to make people aware of this if loaning.

Ha ha, Mawdo81's pipe bender is pretty simple and solid, you should see the manky-looking-sat-in-a-wet-garage-for-18-months envelope I sent it in. Dried on the rad, covered worst of it with A4. I could probably have invest €2.50 in a new envelope :-)

I don't suppose anyone has a tapered reamer I could borrow/rent please for my ball joints? It's 7.15 deg or 1 1/2" to the foot.
Happy to pay postage or collect, I'm near Derby.
