I have m18 X1.5 tap to lend. Anyone got a matching die and holder please?

Well I can add the die and holder to the list.
Nate has the engine crane and stand.

Just about to start measuring and cutting (gulp) the floor, tunnel, footwells and instrument/loom bay, and was thinking along the rivnut line. One I saw in the Complete Kit Car build guide was over £100 so a bit expensive for the use I would get out of it, but if you are prepared to loan one out, that wold be great. I'm in Mickleover, so collection would be no problem, and it would be nice to meet another builder!

I think I might be on my 3rd or 4th rivnut gun, broke 2 rivet guns too, including one nice scissors unit. Would definitely have been better off buying 1 good solid one first.

Not a tool share post but a request for feedback on rivenut gun.
Starting to feel a little worried, my rivenut 'gun' is of the hand 'squeeze' variety and does the job well nothing like the tools in the links, any thoughts (or experience) on potential for rivenuts to pull out?

R2S I bought a handle the rivnut gun of reasonable quality but nothing super exotic, the biggest issue I had was pulling the mandrel out of the rivnut so damaging the thread on the m4's. The first thing I did was to place a rivet in a spare piece of chassis tube and screw an m4 bolt into it then with a pry bar try to lever it out, not a chance and I put some load on it. One thing you do have to ensure though is that the rivnuts you use are suited to the material thickness you are putting them in, most are for thin materials, up to 1.5mm but chassis tube, for example, is 2mm and curved making fractionally "thicker". More importantly though is you should not use rivnuts where pulling out would cause a problem. Spinning is the usual issue most complain about, I make sure I can wind the screw in with my fingers, any resistance sees me run a tap through the thread, this resistance could come from the mandrel distorting the thread from overy crimping for example. I also ensure that the screw does not foul on the part I am fixing, if it does this can lead to the rivnut spinning as well.

Yeah, a few of mine 'spun', make sure to buy the kind with grooved outers. I'm not sure what they're called, but I bought a box of 500 'smooth' M5 ones and I'm not touching them anymore.
I broke the mandrel on my Sealey rivnut gun a good few times too, and to buy spares from them. They're very brittle. Never do it at any kind of angle and don't use two hands, I haven't managed to break a mandrel with a single hand yet.

Does anyone have a carb / throttle body synchrometer or carbtune? I don't have my ITBs set up yet, but I'd need one for a about 30 minutes when I do, seems a shame to buy one outright and have it sit there. I don't own a motorbike I could get long-term use out of it on.

Have seen Sealey rivnut guns ranging from £20-59, and other rivnut guns up to £120 for Memfast etc. There is also this low-tec low-profile low-cost M6 only Rivnut gunTop end doesn't seem cost-effective for the use I'll get from it, but seems there may be problems with the cheaper ones not being good value. Any advice before I play lucky-dip on eBay?

Aren't you in derby? Borrow my good one and only pay out if you break a mandrel to replace it?

Definitely stick with one-handed use; unless you're a powerlifter, you probably won't break it :-) Make sure the mandrels are replaceable and source-able for when you do :-) I have a rake of mandrels in sizes other than M4 and M5 that I'll never use, they came with the 3 broken units, FOC to good home.
