Me too but getting the engine in position is taking longer than I want. It's supplies- I'm waiting on 4mm plate to make a transmission mount adapter. I've debated not waiting but then I won't know clearances as we've discussed ;-) plus the risk of moving the engine with the side and rear panels in position.
I'm targeting in position, if only resting, next weekend.

Pictures to come but good to see p5curly and freshp5 today as well as meet Jamie. Jamie and My son Dan played Lego whilst we talked kits but most importantly I have to thank Steve for the gearbox mount adapter plate. Engine is now sitting how I want it with what looks like no further modification to the dog bone mount. I'll finish drilling the plate and chassis tomorrow once I have a new 12mm bit, then paint the plate ahead of final fit on Wednesday. This will free up the crane for nate78 to borrow, which in turn gives me the space to trial fit the body work. sorry I'm not that regular with the photos but I'll have some this week for you all!

Any suggestions on best jacking/ stand points for the sonic to fit the panels please? Is it the rear and fore most chassis cross members? Does that interfere with fitting the rear? Was thinking the member at the front of engine bay/rear of cockpit but worried about the tipping weight of the drive chain...

I built mine on a very wobbly trolley (I'm too embarrassed to include a picture.....!) which "evolved" over time. The final evolution was to add longitudinal wood (2 pieces of about 2" x 3") to lift the chassis off the trolley to allow the panels to clip underneath the sides. Effectively it was supported along its length from the front chassis member to the chassis member in front of engine compartment. You need to make sure that where you're supporting (particularly at the rear) isn't going to obstruct the side panels (they are attached to the lower chassis side members in the engine compartment). I didn't have any issues with it falling off.....mind you, I always kept my fingers crossed, and held my breath a lot. Seriously, though, if you do support in front of the engine compartment, it's probably worth making sure you've got something weighty right at the front of the chassis to provide a suitable counter-balance. I'm not the best at putting up pictures; partly because I'm not the best at taking them in the first place. But this is a key moment I wanted to share and I know others are asking about so: Nothing bolted or trimmed yet but feels like a little milestone! The side panels took a surprising amount of persuasion but actually a windscreen removal tool was useful to get in where fingers were too big!

So first cut of the oil sump: And the spacing of the pick up pipe may suffice to mean that doesn't need modding Unfort unfately I can't offer the sump up with the pipe in position so will have to wait to lift the engine an inch or two!

I am struggling to see why the sump needs modifying. Perhaps the chassis is different in some way to others or the engine not central.

I'm using the mtx 75 box. Which must be wider than the ib5 as to centralise the driveshafts as previously recommended I've had to shift to the right slightly.
Regardless of that the sump was only a mil or two from the rail prior to moving.

Can any sonic owners please measure both the width under the wing please and the length of the front edge of the wing? Thanks!
