Well I have just finished 3 days on the car and almost everything on the to-do list to get it on the road has been done.
Saturday,
Lifted up onto axel stands
Remove tunnel
Remove exhaust, clean flanges up, re-fit with new gasket to fix leak.
Measure centre section of firewall, fit, final mount of non mounted electrics.
Re-fit tunnel
Remove head light brackets,
Trim and fit nose cone,
Trim to allow headlight brackets to fit,
put riv nuts into tabs for headlight brackets (buggered if i was going to try to get a nut in behind with the nose cone on.)
Fit lights,
Fit IP rated plug to light loom and plug lights/indicator into body loom.
Line up bonnet, install lockable not so flush mount carbon look bonnet pins.
Sunday
Fit rear tub,
line up fuel filler neck, shorten, drill hole in tub,
Fit tabs to mount rear tub,
Wing stay time,
I started with the rear, I drilled and tapped the mount for one of the stays and used the brake calliper bolts for the other,
Fitted up the wing, I spent ages at this point deciding on how I wanted to mount the wings, I ended up sticking them as most have done.
The front I removed the hub to fit the wing stay, the lock nut came off very easily so that was nice.
I kept going until I got the wings glued so they could go off over night.
Monday
Measure, cut and fit rear cabin panel,
Fit seatbelts,
Fit Battery bracket and better,
Silicone up the rear cabin panel and join between the firewall and trans tunnel.
Remove rear tub,
Fit tail lights to tub,
For the wiring I drilled from the inside of the tub into the the tubes, this way there is no visible wiring for the tail lights.
Then I mounted the number plate along with two bolts with lights built into them.
Wired up the lighting in the rear tub, fitted a IP rated plug to the body loom and to the wiring in the rear tub.
Massive clean up time.
I still have to pick up some led's for the high stop light and install to the rear tub, Mount the gauge cluster and the panels to the sides but they are just small jobs I can finish up after work .
I also need to pick up some more silicone,
But in short its almost done!!!!!!!!!!
