Hello peeps, carrying on from my initial thread which was the build up to todays events... mevowners.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rocket&action=display&thread=2391&page=1So the day is upon us...... At last Im going to be at RTR at 1030 to get all of my goodies, im now bursting at the seams, i would have been there at 7.00 if possible, but im governed by the van availability. straight to the tuners for the welder to look at rollbar ideas, see how this type R rad sits, seat rails and engine mounts. i can then leave it there for the week to be completed while im at work. then find a powdercoater and an acceptable colour. i have stolen jack and dads idea and my boy, Kai will be doing some updates on here too, ill introduce him with a team photo later on. ill update with excited pics later on.. paul swordfishmartin@aol.com ive just added this on... this is the guy who is doing the engine work, massively enthusiastic about special projects, and a 100% genuine and nice bloke. give him a bell if you need any work doing.. jhmdevelopments.com/

He Paul,
You must be like the proverbial kid in the candy store.
Things are warming up here in NZ, verbally received my approval to build although still awaiting the full report.
However now got a new build slot of August 6th, was going to be last Monday 23rd so some lucky sod had had his build moved forward - wonder who.
Even then will have to wait for it to be shipped here - three to four weeks. Still one thing I learnt from a number of years of paragliding is the skill of patience.
Afraid I am not going supercharged, a more standard build I am afraid but hell wouldn't know what to do with all that power if i had it anyway.
Will also put up a build diary so will watch your with interest.
Rob

i got home from work earlier than planned today for the weekend, so some menial tasks were carried out, but it felt great to be getting started. Firstly i bolted the bells back to the discs. They look quite nice i think. Hispecs, 310mm diameter, 26mm thick, vented and grooved jobs, they will add a little more unsprung weight than the 10mm solids but hey ho.. next was the epic deburring session simple tools used and a flapper sanding disc in the 4" grinder. i dont know if its just me being anal but i didnt want sharp edges so i bevelled all the outer edges and cleaned up the ends where they had been through the saw. pics are a little random. i then started on the crush tubes, started on the bench grinder but was a bit of a pain due to the length so turned the 4" upside down. HEALTH AND SAFETY IS NOT A DIRTY WORD !! with the outers done, i also took the edge off the inners. same sketch with the bushes, i have put pics up just incase people were unsure how to do it, as i saw one with a stanley knife the other day which took ages. it took about 15 mins to do them all, i then popped them into a plastic tub i have and shook them up for a bit, it acted like a tumbler and knocked off all of the poly swarfe. paul

just knocked up the RD uprights but need to press the barings in tomorrow, i can then fit the discs ans see if it will be possible to keep the hispec R114 calipers if possible to cam them to 129mm centres emma was watching corrie, so i brought the box upstairs and sat on the rug. as far as the instructions state this still needs to come apart a little again, so i used low strength locktite 222, also its an alloy and i have had issues with threadlocks on alloys before. I also added a few spring washers here and there.
