Here comes the fun (or bureaucracy)...
Transporting a tr1ke: A person with a standard Dutch B licence is not allow to drive a car + car trailer. Because the max possible trailer weight. So it must be a van.
Going by boat, because of the size, the van is charged as cargo. (About 1200 euro / single trip!!!!) Most efficient is Eurotunnel, which is 60 euro / single trip. Booked by the internet.
Extra kilometres are far cheaper than boat travel.

To all Dutch tR1kers: RDW technical evaluation The technical evaluation of my tR1ke is very easy because I had my technical evaluation already done in the UK using the RTR MSVA service. You need your V5C document from the UK MSVA. The RDW officer checks numbers (Frame and Engine). The RDW officer also wants to check the legal origin of the engine. My donor-bike is registered (but suspended) by me. Then headlight check and he wanted a quick hear if the exhaust noise was civilized. After that he has to do his administration. And I got a paper mentioning the technical data of the tR1ke. Based on this form and more pricelist reference etc you have to bring, the BPM calculation starts. RDW officer was happy to see something completely different. I got a lot of sympathy For Dutch tR1kers: When calculating BPM tax refer to my tR1ke. It is registered as: Brand: MEV and Type: tR1ke(whats in a name) My experience: the local BPM tax officer is very helpful but also wants to calculate and charge a fair BPM. (as he is supposed to do...) With reference of a previous registration, he is much easier convinced. I referred to a pricelist I got from the Dutch distributor and the tR1ke of vTr1k. However his tR1ke has an individual approval with it's own specific name. (Brand: eigenbouw & Type: van der vossen) Rik his tR1ke is also much more luxurious than mine. (Nice seats, electric shifting, hand clutch, fancy electronics, couplings, racing tyres, electric sunroof , etc etc.) Almost a limosine... So I calculated my tR1ke at a lower price. You have to use the motorbike BPM calculation, NOT the car calculation. At this moment my BPM calculation is paid and pending for official approval....

Today finalized the insurance. Got the feeling the insurance company computer fainted. Anyhow the car is registered at the insurance company as Yamaha MEV tR1ke.
I am charged with motorbike insurance. So about 45 Euro / Year for WA insurance. (= Minimal needed insurance)
For WA+ (also insured for joyriding, stealing etc) I need an official valuation (Dutch: taxatie)
