For me it's a removeable part.. I would want them brake and fuel lines mounted once and left along.. But it is your build do it your way.. You have done a nice job so far..

Well after 2 very long days its gone from a stand alone ppf to back up and running again sounded a little tappety but guessing that's because its close to 0 degrees out there. Was going to grab some photos but my phone said it was too cold to use the flash (New one on me) so hopefully I can get home from work before it gets dark to grab a few pics. Oh and also, any idea if cable ties in the engine bay for the loom will be acceptable for the IVA?? Rich

I think it's allowed remember the ckc build using cable ties but you can't do it for the fuse box etc. Great you got it started always a good feeling when it fires up.

Right all so a few little problems firstly the ally fuel tank. so mainly the pipes more than the tank, one of the problems i am having is because the fuel lines i am using are rubber I wanted them to be on the opposite side of the ppf to the exhaust, no problem but its then proving to be quite difficult to route them to the other side in the tunnel due to lack of space, once again no problem can go behind the driver as it wont weigh a great deal more than the battery so balance wont be severely effected. Now all that going ahead i plan to take the pipes out the side of the tunnel where required using grommets to hold the pipes firm and protect them. Sorry about the essay just though id give you my thought process. Fuel tank problem no 2. It fowls on the seat belt bracket (I'm using harnesses so not needed) just after proples opinions on weather to notch it away or let the tank sit about 30cm further forward. Pics explain it better. I will be making a compleate casing for the fuel tank so the pipes and gap (if i keep it) wont be seen Also did 3 of the 6 floor panel's today Contact adhesive all over with a bead of black sealant round the edges, was quite happy with it but may of been the solvents talking Rich

Will the tank fit the left/pass side?? you could take the rubber lines out the rear tunnel and up high and over to the pass side and makes 2 holes through the afr bulkhead with grommets.. That would give more room behind drivers seat.. were is the filler going to be.. I understand it must be outside the cockpit. Is there a vent on the tank.. Why not have the tank corner notched to fit under the support..

The trouble is that as i have my pipes quite high there is not enough room for them to exit the tunnel at the rear which is why im thinking of having them to exit the side. I have tried the seat in and for me its got enough room so not too worried about that.

Looking good! You are marginally ahead of me (stuck down my chequered matting last night and haven't trial fitted the bodywork yet) I've done the same with a red MEV logo on the front mesh - looks great doesn't it!!

Rich, looking good. Great inspiration for those of us still in strip down mode. Colour scheme looks good is that red striping or a orangey red? Really stands out.

Cheers, its a red just doesn't come out well in photos, you cant see the effect of the carbon either. Strip down was fun apart from being filthy every night and having to keep cleaning everything you touch!!!!!!! Just placed the order for brake pipes tonight so may be able to move it under its own power soon!!!!!

Hi Rich
Enjoyed reading your theory on the underslung radiator expansion tank which you fitted a couple of months ago. Now that you have had the engine running, have you experienced any problems or does the theory hold good?

Well as its a bit loud without the exhaust on i've only ran it up to temperature once and no problems so far, unfortunately cant comment too much though.
I thought my temperature gauge had broken but it seems that as the engine bay is so exposed it can never get up to temperature just on tick over, had to hold it at 2k revs for a few mins to get the thermostat open and rad fan to kick in
