Everything had been going so well I decided to try and fit an aftermarket hazard switch, the problem being that the MX5 Mk2 switch was five pole and I had sourced a single pole switch:
So I came up with relay solution, which works, just not the smallest or neatest :
I removed all the fog light wiring and hazard wiring, leaving normally open contact which when closed operated the hazards, it works. I have no tackled the fog light yet. Until this point the car has been running fine and I completed some work on the exhaust and went to start her up.....but now she will not start!!!!!!
Everything clicks the engine turns over but it will not fire.
All the wiring I have removed is related to hazard and fog light switch, the only other wiring modification is extending the loom for the instrument panel. The Gy/R and R/B wires were the only unconnected wires, but I could not figure how this would stop the engine from firing. Even so I reconnected them to the original hazard light switch loom and the engine fired up.
Turned it off tried again and it would not start Grrrrrrr!!!
It is worth mentioning that I have also removed (lost) the dimmer so connected the Gr/R to earth which bypasses the dimmer as per my thread.

I have checked the earths.
I have belled the instrument panel engine wire back to the ECU all is fine
I have belled all the immobilizers wired, everything is fine.
And now I am stuck, I am not sure what to check next and how to backtrack and find the problem. I am mostly confused because I don't see how the wiring changes I have made would cause the car to not start.
I do not think it is the immobilizer because the car would run then turn off.
I don't know how to check the fuel is flowing or how to check the cylinder are sparking. I am hoping someone will read this and point out my school boy error.
To cap it all my switches finally arrive and they are a little smaller than I thought
Also I have removed the steering wheel air bag, but not sure this would cause a problem. Any help greatly appreciated!!!
