Time for another update. During November and the start of December there was no real movement on the project despite having collected all of the engine parts from Rocketeer. I had spent some time ordering parts and painting bits but hadn't really progressed the build. Finally just before Christmas I decided I needed to crack on. After spending a few weekends and evenings locked away in the garage I am now at this point. There is still some work to do on the engine but it is now at a point were I can fit the chassis on. With this now done it on with the front suspension as I'm picking the kit up from Stewart on Friday and I would like to be able to get the chassis on fairly quickly. That's the first arm almost completed, just needs a little cleaning up around the welds then on to the second arm. Once this is done it's off to the powder coaters to get them coated and water dipped the same as the rear.

Any updates from today? Hi Stewart good to catch up and see how much things have changed since I last visited. Adam and I were both interested in the idea of the RX8 and it will be good to see the progress of that project. We got home ok and rested the chassis onto the roller skate and it looks great. However did hit upon my first challenge and that is that the throttle bodies hit on the chassis which means that the inlet plenums will not screw down properly. Still I did know that this project was always going to be a challenge.

Spent the day checking through the engine loom after finding a poorly fitted connector. Went on to find a second badly fitted connector and one cable that actually came out of the connector. So it looks like I'm going to have to give Rocketeer a call tomorrow to sort out the wiring issues and also to discuss the inlet plenum problem as the throttle bodies hit against the side rails of the chassis. May end up making angular spacers on a 3D printer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated on how to get around this problem. The guys at Basset Down did say that they knew of someone who was building an Exocet with a V6 lump in and they had the same issue as me but fixed it. Not sure how.

Great build, that is a real shame about the TB's hitting the chassis. The plenum elbows are manufactured as a separate items and bonded in place. I would suggest sending the ones you have back and accepting non bonded elbows. That way you can presumably make slight alterations to gain clearance.

Not another green one in Kent arghhhhhh Nice build though, I'm nearing completion. Some silly jobs to do once it warms up enough to get in my garage.
