Hi Iain,I’m just down the road in snodland.Nice to know there’s another Exocet Close by.Yours sounds like it might be a bit quicker than my 1.8!!! I'm also in Snodland. It's going to be a while before it's finished but when it is a quick trip to Santa Pod with some mates to see what it will do.

Looks like great progress!
How are you planning to get through the IVA with that engine? I'm trying rotary, but am already running into problems.

Light weight and plenty of power. I did look at this option but couldn't find a company that was able to supply the right parts and technical support that Rocketeer seem to offer for the V6 option. My plan is I'm going to use the Rocketeer kit for installing the engine as this is designed to fit the V6 Jaguar lump straight into an MX5. Comes with all of the necessary parts including exhaust and a new ECU and a new engine wiring loom. Fortunately I do have plenty of help and support from a friends around me who have plenty of knowledge and experience of customising cars. Should be interesting to see what they say when I put it in for the IVA. What sort of problems are you running into as I may well end up having the same issues.

Well, I guess it will be slightly different with the Jag engine, as you will retain the MX5 trans. I've explained my concerns in my build thread (Swindon Exocet G Type build), but I was planning to use the engine, management, and trans from the RX8. Stuart thinks that will be an IVA problem, so I'm doing my research.
I've been told that the best thing to do is to build it as an MX5 donor, then do an engine swap, but the guys at the DVSA have also raised concerns about getting through an MOT in future, as the emissions won't meet those which are given at IVA. I might just go back to my plan of building a turbo'd MX5 lump, but thats boring when V6 and rotary power options exist.
Love the Jag idea, but I don't have the funds to back it up!

I'm on the FB group at the moment. Have some big issues at the moment as I've lost all the data from my laptop drive and ALL my tear down and most of the rebuild pics were on it so not sure what I'll do about IVA proof now.

Oh wow, the last times (two) that I went through SVA, I had to send in pictures of the strip down and rebuild of the kits to prove that I'd done it or risk getting a Q plate.

I did submit some pics with the application but at the actual test he didnt ask me for anything, probably as life is electronic now.
