I’m in no rush to complete my build and as I don’t have an engine hoist and not much help to do this, I’m thinking of cutting the body apart until I get to a rolling skate. Also it helps me remove the crap in easy to manage chunks. Anyone else done that or am I being daft?

That’s exactly what I did. It was quite time consuming but as you say disposing of the body was a lot easier. It also allowed me to get to some hard to reach bolts etc easier.

I was in the same position and started with angle grinder but after using loads of blades and getting nowhere, I took a reciprocating saw to mine to cut it up into moveable chunks. Great fun but just watch if you do this to try and avoid hitting any double skins as it can rebound pretty badly. I was then lucky as some passing scrap collectors offered to take them all away.

There were 4 of us who got a corner each and was fairly straightforward. Unless of course an earth or anything else is still attached, but you can just put it down until you detatch then lift again.
