Got the wings fitted this weekend and am pretty happy with the results. Only a couple of jobs such as final wiring of lights and bonnet pins.
The car fires up after initially having issues with it revving like crazy and not realising the throttle cable was keeping it open due to its new position to the pedal. Helpful peeps on the forums and now adjusted, so it now burbles at around 1000.
Perplexed by reverse light not working. I have confirmed the switch works, thankfully.
The cable comes up into main fuse box but it doesn’t seem to go to a fuse, just comes back out and goes straight to rear light. I have read it’s meant to go to the small fuse box and a 10 or 15amp fuse. So looks like I need to cut the wire and make it go through a switched fuse for its power!

Front lights fittted loosely so I can adjust wire lengths.
Due to mk2.5 exhaust not fitting (back box and second lambda sensor hit tunnel), I need to get something made up, but hopefully not to expensive as using MEV exhaust.

Hello, please can I have clarification on 2 points: The frame has a welded in plate (is this the VIN) with chassis number.
Do I need another plate and if so what information please ?
Do I need some sort of LED day time running lights or am I ok with the headlights supplied by MEV?

Hi Russ,
You need another one, not just the welded one that came with the kit. I had mine engraved on a small sheet of steel from ebay for around 5 pounds and riveted it onto the same cross member that the welded one is on, but on the other side of the engine bay (the side of the exhaust manifold). Make sure the o in Exocet in your VIN (assuming the VIN format is the same as mine (MEVEX0CET2018____) is a zero and not the letter o when you get it engraved.
It needs to look like the following: ______________________ ¦ VIN ¦ ¦ MEV LTD ¦ ¦______________________¦
(obviously where I wrote VIN, you need to put your actual VIN!!!)
LED day time running lights are optional. The headlight kit MEV supply are sufficient but make sure you can see the centre of the light from the angles stated in IVA guide. Yours look like they comply, but always best to double check!
Hope this helps

Brill thanks. Will get plate made up.
My light problem is with sidelights which are often called parking lights, but not sure if they are the same as daytime running lights?
My light stalks first click position before clicking again for dipped, is for sidelights.
So I guess because I have this stalk position I am forced to fit some driving lights?
And I would fit them in the nose but then they would be over 400mm from edge of car.... bugger.

As far as I'm aware sidelights are all you need and DRLs are an optional add on for style. If you're using MEV supplied Dominator lamps then the sidelights in those should be fine assuming you've mounted them to meet positioning reqs.

Thanks Mike, unfortunately the MEV supplied lights I have are not DOMINATOR, so only have dipped and high beam in them.
I am about to pull the trigger and buy the Dominators as they do include all three lights in them: driving, dipped, high beam
Thank you

Perhaps the Dominators have changed in design more recently, but through the history of this forum they've come in for criticism because of their poor thrown-light. It's been a common mod to change the bulbs for better ones to get pattern definition.
There's also been phases through the years where an individual IVA test has (incorrectly) failed the lights on their flat beam, prompting people to adjust them to kick up to the left. I made this mod but it does mean the lenses look odd at an angle. It crops up in many threads over time including the "Dominator headlights confusion" thread of Sept '15.
I guess what I'm saying is that in your position I might be looking for side-light/indicator combos rather than moving to Dominators (unless their design has improved). Your call of course.

Yep, made the decision to just get some sidelight leds and fit them on small bracket next to current lights. Much easier and I don’t need to mess with current wiring etc.
Fitting them now, plus dash and nose grill.
Got exhaust booked in at Skuzzle in 3 weeks’ish. That’s it I hope.

Not sure if just me, but binnacle position means you cannot open bonnet more than a foot. Therefor I made it quick release. Fitted metal bracket using PU and screws into binnacle. Fitted small bonnet pin into steering column surround that mates to the push button in metal bracket.
Now it is quick to release and move 10-12 inches or obviously unplug totally from loom.

Took car down the road for 50 yards, and all seemed ok. Exhaust booked into Skuzzle in 3 weeks. Just got to fit driving light LED's and little bracket for switches. Cover for handbrake cables and hopefully done.

Hi mate, Handbrake cable cover isn't needed for IVA. Car is looking great, also I have a cover for you that I used for IVA to block the area by the pedals.
