Hi all, Im fitting an SVC kit car loom and am confident in what I'm doing with most of it but having studied the MX5/Miata wiring diagrams I could do with some help. The OEM plug that plugs in to the ign barrel and has 6 wires. THe SVC Ignition explanation in the picture has 4 and are different colours. The SVC Loom has: 1 x BROWN - Perm feed 1 x WHITE - Switched feed 1 x WHITE - Coil 1 x WHITE RED - Starter trigger The OEM plug has: 2 x WHITE/REDS (that join into one a bit further down) 1 x BLACK /RED 1 X RED/BLACK 1 X GREEN/RED 1 X WHITE/BLACK My current thoughts (no pun intended) on the SVC loom are: Brown = Black/Red White/Red = Black White the two Whites are the two OEM white reds. the two left on the oem are perhaps Red/Black = Lights and the Green/Red = Hazard lights? ? I'm hoping some expert (like gwnwar) will have done this before and will be able to help me. If I can sort this bit out then I'll be fine sorting the rest of the chassis electrics. 1999 1.8 mk2 donor

on the mazda loom the two white/red go to battery positive - brown the white/black is starter -white/red the black/red is switched feed - thick white (fuse box for indicators and lights ect) the red/black is coil - thin white (all engine circuits main relay) the green/red is accecory circuits (not needed)
hope this helps jox

rumour has it that you are planning a MEV tat on your forehead Hammy. Is this correct? If so I may follow suit.

Absolutely brilliant!! Thanks very much indeed mate Just a thought Jox, can I use the green/red to power the standalone ECU if I put an inline fuse? hi the green red wire is only sutable to run accessory circuits like radios and similar as it will loose power when you turn the key to crank the starter and the engine will never start if the ecu is connected to it the best way to power the ecu is from the red black wire through a fused relay hope this helps jox
