Can anyone recommend a set of coilovers that are extremely comfy on the road and then can be set for track days. My back can't cope with the bilsteins any more

I'm interested in this too. Any suggestions would be great!

The Gaz basic range are brilliant. Not the gold range, the one below. I had these on 2 of my previous Mx5s and loved them.

I've been looking at Gaz, but why not the Gold/pro ones? I've been looking for adjustable height and damper to allow for me not knowing how it will handle, and therefore giving the most amount of customisation possible. Are they thin enough to fit in the gap created by the banana plate, or is more modifications needed to the plate?

I only have experience of those ones, that's why I suggested them. They easily fit the mx5 wishbones, but now the chassis is narrower I think that the shocks are now leaning at a different angle which causes the problem with contact of the banana / subframe. A lot of the early exocets ran them perfectly with no issues (I read a lot of threads ! Lol). But the narrower chassis is an un known mate sorry.

I don't think buying mx5 ones is any good due to the light weight of the Exocet. Can you buy Gaz for example and stipulate a certain spring rate??

mx5parts has a deal at the moment and are selling Gaz classics for £500 and gold pros for £600 at the moment. (inc vat) The standard is 350lb rated front springs and 250lb rated rears - is would this be okay for the exocet bearing in mind the weight reduction?

Don't know why more people don't look at Protech. That's what Stuart put on his demo car and they are fully customisable for the similar price level. I would think that 350/250 Spring rate is still quite high unless mainly for track,
