ABS Rings and Rear Wing Stays

Hi all,
I had a quick look at the rear wing stays yesterday and it seems obvious they are going to foul on the ABS rings. I dont want to dismantle the car again so how have others got around this? I know some of you are running functional ABS so there must be a fix. (I dont have working ABS on my car)

the rings are quite brittle, a good hit with a lump hammer and chisel will have them off. Eye wear essential. Shorts not a good idea either, I just had 7 stitches removed!

And.... OUCH no one wants stitches after splitting your rear ring piece !  :-)
