The hole through which the exhaust tail pipe exits the car requires protection.
I have tried to find a metal grommet/flange ring but to no avail. Does anyone know where I may purchase said item.
Thanks.

Do you know which rule and why? I just searched the post sept 2018 IVA manual for exhaust and didn't find anything that implies this.

Don't think this is a requirement at all - I've certainly got nothing like this on my Sonic - but I guess the exhaust is running close to the bodywork and it is more of a desirable feature to avoid the fibreglass cooking. The pictures of the exhaust certainly look as if that would be the case. I like the idea of a rampipe solution tho Martin

Thank you for your replies.
This is NOT about IVA. The car was built some years ago and passed the IVA.
The exhaust was slightly loose (now tightened) and has knocked against the bodywork on the exit hole causing some chipping.
The Ram Air Duct is a good suggestion, thank you. I need to consider how to attach it to the bodywork. I'm thinking of making cuts in the part that goes through the bodywork, bend them to the inside of the body and bond them in place. Or better still clamp the flange to the exhaust pipe on the inside of the body work.
I'll let you know how I get on.

Ah, not sure why I made the link to IVA, think it was the "requires" wording as if you had been told.
Pretty sure tiger seal or another PU adhesive will sufficiently hold the ram pipe in place ok without bending as long as similar diameter to the hole.

Ram pipe fitted. I had to shorten the spigot at the back. Fitted over the tail pipe and covered the edges of the exit hole and protects the bodywork. Used 'Plastic Padding' to secure it into place.

Ah ok, you don't need a smart phone, but yes you'd need a computer and a digital camera as a minimum.

No digital camera. As and when one of my adult children pay a visit I'll get them to take a photo and post on here.
