Waw ! Trust me, you don't want to run the wishbones with no banana, they flex like mad. The whole top wishbone thing is another issue that never goes away. I know that people will say that the shock body is too wide, but the idea of the kit is that MX5 bits are a direct fit.

With standard shocks there isn't a massive amount of room so I think the issue you have is those aftermarkets have the wider adjuster sleeve really low down which is making it worse.
Have you definitely got the right shocks front to back? One set is longer

I have the coilovers in the collect place, the coilovers are jamming at the point of when the bottom arm is straight

I'm having the exact same problem! I've thought about either not using the bolts and welding it onto the wishbones, but closer to the centre of the car, but then this might foul on the subframe. Another solution could be welding the banana plates on again, but the opposite side of the coilover, but not sure if this would provide enough support due to it being quite far away from the section we removed. Or make custom banana plates

There is space on the top bones to drill 2 additional holes to bolt the bananas to if required. No drilling needed if standard MX5 shocks are used. No welding is required unless the builder prefers.

I have the same problem, its very tight if you use coil overs. I have parked the problem and moved on until I need to fix it. I don't want to weld, so will modify the banana or drill new holes.
