I am building my kit with a PWS car loom which is being built for me by Alan at PWS and I'm keeping the engine loom and stock ecu for now from my mk2 1.8 MX5. Has anyone else done this and have a guide / how to? Especially on what can be removed from the engine part of the loom. My new loom is also being built to take my Acewell digidash
Any tips, links or threads appreciated Cheers
John

I did something similar with my Replicar build - a RHD body harness and a NAS engine harness. Quite a bit of work and ended up with one multipin connector between the 2 harnesses. I will see if I can find my notes. Incidentally the MX5/Miata is the only car I have come across where the engine harness is not separate from the body harness.

Bit of a scruffy scan, there are 11 connections. I can provide detail if it will help.

Thanks but what do you mean by: Incidentally the MX5/Miata is the only car I have come across where the engine harness is not separate from the body harness' ? The engine loom is still connected to my engine and the main car loom is in a big box. Am I missing the point here? Also if you do have more detail or a build thread I can study that would be great :-) Cheers for your help mate John

Am I missing the point here?[/quote] On most production cars the engine, harness and ECU are installed as a complete assembly - on the MX5 the most of the ECU harness is built into the main body harness then plugs into a couple of sub-harnesses on the engine (at least on the donors I have used, newer cars may be different). There is a build thread for the Replicar: mevowners.proboards.com/thread/4317/replicar-arizonaNot sure it will help much on the wiring though , what sort of detail are you looking for?
