Unfinished MEV Rocket FOR SALE

Sad day! - This is not what I originally expected my first forum post to be!

Unfortunately, I am selling my part completed MEV Rocket. The story is sad but not that unique, I purchased the kit from MEV way back in April 2009, and enthusiastically worked on the car most weekends for around 18 months, then, business commitments and a home move took centre stage and the kit car got covered over with dust sheets and hasn’t been worked on since. In the meantime, the house reservation project took all my spare time until it was finished a couple of years ago. But it left me with severe carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands - making working on projects like a kit car build far less pleasurable. After two years of kidding myself that I would get better and now with yet another house move planned, the Rocket has to go…….

In terms of spec, I’ve tried to use the best and, wherever practical, fitted new parts. I dug out my receipt records, and totted it up to over approximately £13,500! I think that all the work I’ve done is to a high standard - but maybe I’m biased? Mostly, all that is left is the piping and wiring, plus a few covers and brackets. The only major item that is needed in addition to what I’m including is the exhaust system.

* MEV Rocket (supplied directly by MEV/Stuart), including,

• Powder coated chassis and suspension in silver/grey (RAL9022)
• Roll bar and bracing option
  
• Alloy pedal assembly with 3 master cylinders
  
• Wilwood 4 pot front brake calipers
  
• Grooved/Vented front brake discs
• Wiring loom / Fuses / Lights etc
• New steering rack
• Alloy Uprights / hubs / bearings
• Fuel tank
• All GRP mouldings in Poppy Red (including plain/non aero wings)
  

* New 2.0l Black top 170bhp Zetec Engine, supplied by OMEX in August 2010

• Spec No:ZE20F020T / Serial No:115
• OMEX 600 ECU and harness/sensors to suit
• Jenvey Throttle Bodies
• New flywheel and clutch to suit IB5 gearbox
• All associated ancillaries
• Ran on OMEXs test facility (but not started since)

* New 17” Alloy Wheels fitted with Yokohama 215/40R17 Parada Tyres
* Radiator and associated piping.
* Pipercross air filter
* Brake/clutch pipes all done up to engine bulkhead
* Steering / column all fitted
* Gear stick and all linkages fitted
* Handbrake and cables fitted and connected
* Floor panel fitted
* Nose, footwell side and engine bulkhead panels fitted
* Wilwood rear brake calipers, new non vented rear discs
* Drive shafts fitted
* Reconditioned gearbox fitted (plus a further spare gearbox)
* Black GRP seats
* Red TRS harnesses
* Red Top 25 Racing Battery
* Various hoses, wiring, tanks, materials and other parts too numerous to list.

Sorry, I can't deliver so it would need to be collection only (Evesham, Worcestershire).

please send your welded steering arms to Rally design for replacement, they did a recall on these and replace them FOC with a forged item.

Thanks for the comment about the phone number rcsimon, however due to bad experiences in the past I'm really careful about putting my phone number on publicly viewable internet forums - hence why I asked to be contacted in the first instance by private message - obviously I'd then be more than happy to give my number to any one who contacts me in that way.
