Hi, you'll need to both hinge and use catches. Do not use bonnet pins as they fail. Google bonnet catches and you'll find the oval ones from places like CBSonline, Demon Tweeks, Rally Design and so on.

That's nice and much better for cooler air flow

Mate,
Good to see you trackside yesterday. Its nice to put a face to a car thread, like I said I realy enjoyed reading this thread and it saved me a few issues when I rebuilt G7 EXO.
We were talking suspension yesterday.....I checked the spring rates on the MeinsterR CRD's and they are 7kg front and 5kg rear. I find them good on the road and exceptional yesterday at Blyton. I ran two sets of tyres Nankang NS2R in the morning and Nankang AR1 in the afternoon. Personally I will stick to NS2R they are a third cheaper and nearly as good as the AR1's. You just need to run them 18 to 20psi and give them a couple of laps to heat up. I have Wilwood 6 pot front calipers on Fer.DS2500 pads with yellowstuff in the rears. Again no brake fade and I could outbrake anything that came near me on the track.
I am very impressed with my setup when I consider the cost.
I look forwards to seeing you out on the track again? Please keep posting the upgrades.....I need some good reading! Cheers
John

I was so impressed with your setup, I bought some MeisterR CRD’s today! I spoke to the guys at BOFI and they could only sell me the set with 6kg/5kg but a pair of 7kg springs is £70, so not too bad, especially as I got the coilovers at a £50 discount. There is a bit of a backlog so it will be 3/4 weeks before they arrive. They also do an adjustable rear antiroll bar (we were discussing), but at £200, it’s a bit steep!

Thanks....I am looking at ARB's from USA so perhaps we order two? I will let you know. That said I am happy with it for now. Mesiter have a UK online shop so I buy my springs direct from them although the price is the same from Bofi (my other preferred supplier of parts). Some of the guys are looking to hire out Llandow circuit soon, are you interested? its a long way to Bridgend for you but I thought I would ask. I have focused on suspension, brakes and cooling lighter flywheel and stage 4 clutch. Oh and tyres! so next was supercharger and I told everyone I was going that route......however I woke up this morning and changed my mind...TURBO! I am sure the chassis would come alive with another 100hp. I have done almost all the supporting mods ready for the bigger power. I will also build a spare engine. I have had some really quick cars in the past but these Exocets are great fun on the track. I look forwards to seeing more pictures and info on this build. keep it going, its great.

I managed to break my wing mirror at Blyton by walking past my own car... DOH!!! I wanted a more sturdy mounting and fold-in mirrors that don’t shake too much with the vibrations. I decided to mount the new (folding) mirrors on rubber mounted aluminium triangles. Before: After: Had to be careful with the placement so that it didn’t foul the bonnet when it’s up.

Out the box thinking for mirror mounts, i really like them. Stick a brick behind the rear wheel, in case of hand brake failure

I can’t claim 100% originality on the mirror mounts, I took some inspiration from Neil’s mounts at Blyton and added rubber stand offs.

Like the mirror solution! When we were rebuilding Sylvs race car a couple of years ago, the mirrors were a bugbear of hers, so we fitted some standard Mk2 electric mirrors. Also wired in the switch so she can adjust them in car with the harness on

Hello. I'm a new member who's been contemplating building an Exocet for several years. First, thanks to Morgan for recording his build so diligently and clearly. His descriptions and photographs are going to be invaluable.
Somewhat tangentially, his photograph half way down this page shows a row of about a dozen Exocets. Behind them and to the right is a red car facing the other direction...does anyone know what this car is? I haven't been able to find anything quite like it in the historical gallery of MEV models.
