Hi all
After years of not having the time, space or money and longingly looking at the exocet today i finaly purchased and started the doner strip today! Well half the job had been done already as the car i purchased had been a donor to someones mx5 restoration.
Spent a couple of hours stripping the rear end today. Love the fact that everything comes apart so easily for a 26yr old car! Looking forward to getting the body off to prepare the parts i need.

Good Progress! Wish mine would have came with a MOMO steering wheel. One less thing to buy.

A few more hours spent over the last couple of days. Cabin now stripped out and most of ancilleries stripped from engine. Not far off body removal. Question. i dont have a huge amount of room to lift body off. Has anyone had success with cuting into bits and removing bit by bit?? I need to cut to bits to dispose anyway so thought i would kill 2 birds so to speak?

Probably easier to lift on in 1 and then cut up mate tbh

It can be done with a 9" angle grinder but it is potentially dangerous. Hire of an engine lift for a weekend is cheap and saves a lot of work instead of cutting it up. Leave the body on the drive and ask your scrap man to pick it up, they usually have a lift on their wagon.
