Hi Everyone, As you can see from my thread about the fan and temp gauge, im having nothing but problems! I have figured out why the fan wasnt switching on, the BLUE/YELLOW wire that goes from the relay to the 30amp fues was cut. As you can see ive reconnected the wires and the fan is now switching on. Next to this cut fan wire there are other wires which seem to have been cut, looped round and taped can anyone identify these wires for me, they may not be important but with the electrical issues im having im not so sure! The colours in order from left to right are: VIOLET/YELLOW PINK BLUE/WHITE BLUE/BLACK BLACK/RED GREEN/BLACK Identifiying these wires are not the main problem! 1. When the headlights are on the right indicator doesn't work and the right indicator symbol on the dash is illuminated 2. When the headlights are on and I put the right indcator on I have to flash and hold the main beam on to make them work 3. When I flash the main beam the temp gauge spikes, the same as it does when the fan switches on

Oh shit.. If you would check for continuity for each of the wires back to the connectors on the ECU/PCM (pull connectors)..

Do the 4 way flashers work?? 4 corners and dash?? Did your donor have Daylight Running Lights?? Do any of the cut wires have power to them with key on/off?? Do any of the cut wires go to ground?? When you flash main beam you are adding a ground to the light system and it is crossing over to the temp gauge. You changed out the cluster right?? So it has to be the wires.. The wire colors that you show cut can be for the AC, AC fan relay, rear window defogger, hazards and a couple of others..

Yes, the hazards work, indicators work, main beam and driving lights all work fine, its only when the headlights are on the right indicator doesn't work.
No Daylight running light
I haven't checked for power or ground (i packed up when i saw the wires)
The donor didnt have AC, AC Fan or defogger which is a good thing!
Im convinced its the wires!
Something clearly isn't right and im hoping they are all linked i.e the temp gauge reading high when its not (previous post) due to excessive ground being added to the cluster and the fact the gauge spikes when the main beam is flashed as well as the gauge spiking when the fan switches on!
Not sure if the right hand side indicators not working when the driving lights are on is related. Its very strange, if the head lights are on and then you flick the right side indicator up the light on the dash illuminates and stays on but no indicators, if you then pull the stalk in to flash the main beams and hold it, the indicators work lol

is this the same car that is on Ebay ( item 142467908193 ) ? Yes it is, I'm giving it one last attempt before selling it, although there are other reasons for selling (nothing to do with the car) this one is hanging onto the curiosity in me!

Ugh. Electrical. My bane. It sounds like some of your problems are similar to the ones I struggled through earlier this year, especially with the headlights and turn signals.
My donor is a different year so I'm guessing my wiring is different but I know that in the 92/93 diagrams the red/black wire is hot but may be for several different features. The only way to know for sure is to trace it. The violet wire on my car is for the circuit opening relay (fuel pump). It's possible to start the car without this wire with a simple electrical bypass. I'd check the wires running into that relay to ensure they are all properly connected; according to my diagram, automatic transmission has an extra wire to run to the dash. It's possible the same in your car and that the extra wire is not used (I assume you have manual). Most - if not all - of the blue/white wires on my car were for the airbag system, which I cut out of the harness. I don't recall any pink or green/black wires, though I'm color blind and have trouble seeing most pinks.
The issue with turn signals/headlights/dash sounds like incorrectly connected ground - either something is grounded that shouldn't be or a ground (or multiple) are missing. On the 92/93, all grounds are black though sometimes have silver or red spots on them. Ensure you have all the grounds connected solidly.
It sucks, but the issues can be worked out with a little patience and a little beer (to take the edge off). I'd focus on fixing one at a time. Sometimes fixing one solves more than one problem (and sometimes seems to create a new one).
Good luck!
