Hi all

We had decided on building a MEV kit as we have a fair bit time on our hands at the min.  I have set about today on one of two MX5 that we own. Some little toe-rags decided which car we were going to use after they climbed the fence in the  lock up stripped and smashed up he car.  We set about today, myself and my 11 year old son wihh a hand full of tools and to finish off what they started to do. We made sure we could get the car running again as its stood a while outside.  It started and run so we have started to pull the front end off and strip he wiring harness out of the engine bay.  Sadly the damage tht has bwwn done mean most of the donor parts that we could sell have been smashed stolen or beyond repair.  I have put a couple of pics up of how we have the car now after a days work.  I didn't take any before pics...

I wouldn't worry about the not selling parts on, they are not the be all and end all. I think I raised about £450 quid so effectively paid for the donor I had.

What the £450 didn't take into account was the complete pain in the arse some people can be when buying things from you. I had people turning up at the house trying to knock money off on agreed prices quite regularly.

We have some progress on the strip down over the last few nights.  We have stripped rear end of car electrics back.  Engine bay wiring pulled back and made a start with the interior loom strip out.. the more bits i take of this car are making it look like a proper pile of scrap..

Hows the build going? My parents live in Chester didnt think id see another exocet rolling down front street
