Reality strikes- I am not going to be able to finish my Exocet build in time, so I'd rather see it find a good home and get completed. It's a pretty serious track focused build ( but intended to be street and emissions legal) incorporating everything I'd learned from two street/track Miatas. Mostly 949 Racing parts.
State of the build: The donor was my personal 2000 (NB) miata- title for which is included for those in states where you can register the vehicle as a Miata. Steerable roller. Currently, the chassis bulkheads are installed, -3 AN brake, -6 AN fuel and return lines are installed, chassis is mated to the rollerskate and the driver's seat is attached.
Bodywork brackets not mounted and the bodywork has not been drilled.
Suspension, brakes and steering are installed but not final torqued awaiting alignment. Engine/transmission/PPF/Differential are all torqued to spec. Radiator and driver's seat are mounted on temporary brackets for testing/measurement.
Chassis - Exomotive Exocet Sport chassis #047 - single diagonal, seatbelt mounts, steel floors. Black powdercoat. Includes all bodywork (unmounted) windscreen frame, shock spacers fender mounts and the gen 2 rear wing mount. Aluminum panels were painted and mounted (rivits) with all holes sealed and deburred.
Panels trimmed to clear welds. Driver's side seat crossmembers drilled for AN hardware.
All mounts for brake lines and trans tunnel use rivnuts with stainless or plated hardware. Includes spare front and rear subframes
Engine - 2000 (NB) 0 miles on rebuilt engine. I love this engine. Long block assembled by RP Performance (Summit Point Spec Miata specialist) with balanced crank, new internals: main bearings, AP studs, Manley forged rods, Supertech 9.7:1 pistons, 949 racing ring package, Boundary Engineering oil pump, 949 Racing cast impeller water pump, Fidanza lightweight flywheel /new 949 racing clutch, and coolant reroute.
New mishimoto radiator. 949 racing CNC head ($3,000 new) Gates belt, new tensioners, gaskets, plugs and the rest. Even has a new dipstick. Mocal oil thermostat, Setrab oil cooler, -10 AN oil lines. SS header, Enthuza SS exhaust w/HF Cat. (see exomotive site)
Engine has the Fast Forward Supercharger kit , with 105 and 115mm drive pulleys. All electronics required for this application.
This is the only CARB approved SC option at the moment. For thopse not famliar this is the one that drives the miataturbo people up the wall. No intercooler, realistic power output, perfect streetability and only adds 18 pounds. It works like it came from the factory. Rcdr replica short intake. In the original application, dyno was about 190rwhp. New build with lower compression, CNC head and more boost should yield a safe 220-230 rwhp on pump gas.
New Supermiata competition motor mounts (poly. Very solid) and Mazdaspeed mounts.
Drivetrain - 6 speed NB trans, new 949 racing driveshaft, Torsen LSD with Poly bushings and new axles. New Planet Miata rebuilt hubs with ARP studs. New LBJs.
Suspension - Xida clubsport shocks w/helper springs. Best Miata suspension ever. Energy Suspension bushings. Control arms stripped and repainted.
Cockpit - new Kirkey 45 series containment seat (it fits!) with Kirkey brackets and cover. AN harware. New Driven steering wheel with NRG quick release. Impact and saferacer 5 pt harnesses. No passenger seat as yet.
Wheels - New Traksport 15x8 +0 Bronze wheels with New 205 Direzza Star Specs mounted. 949 racing valves and lugnuts.
Brakes - standard NB with Hawk Blues and new 949 Racing lines (I set up the brake lines to use off the shelf miata SS lines for ease of replacement.) Wilwood cockpit mounted bias adjuster attached to FM proportioning valve.
Fuel - NB tank with Deatschwerks DW200 installed. -6AN lines, external AN filter.
Donor Parts and Spares - All electrical bits, steering rack, E Brake, controls and the like required for completion. Spare front and rear subframes, and a few control arms.
Needed - Generally speaking, torque everything, align, plug in the wiring, tighten the fuel lines, bleed the brakes, connect a battery and go. Add passenger seating and lights as required.
The Exomotive hood will not clear the blower, options include Mad Max style scoops or just a hole.
Pictures - coming.
The bottom line - $20,000 takes everything. A this stage of the build I would consider removing some parts to feed back to the miata community (Supercharger, suspension) to lower the price. Located in Northern Virginia. Available immediately. Partial trades involving a lotus elise/exige only please. Please PM with questions.
