Hello,
To have a bit more protection against elements I am considering to mount panels to the sides of the frame of the Tr1ke.
What to consider? Suggestions?

I've thought about it. Was thinking that putting the panel inside the frame would look better than on the outside.
Bicyclists that have faired bicycles often use lycra/spandex as a fairing material. You could wrap the sides with that as a trial. The other choice might be waterproof rip stop nylon with grommets and laced or bungeed on the inside.

I had thought about this too, I had spoken to Carbonmods about some panels, I think carbon panels with a border of colour would look great, I am sure it won't be cheap, but they could be made to roll over the top of the tubes and bolt on underneath out of sight, with maybe foam double sided padding where it comes into contact with the side tubes.
What do you think?
I was going to try and photoshop the panels on this weekend with the funky new pics of the TR1KE.

fabric panels worked well on the mighty Velorex, another well known reverse trike from Czeckoslovakia. It also had half a bike sticking out of it's behind... ;D

What I'm most interested in is the shift system. What kind of cable system is stiff enough for both push and pull?

We use a Ford Focus gearshift cable, neatly engineered by Ford for both push and pull. We supply the forks to anchor the cable with the tR1ke kit and it works very well.

I've had special cables made up by www.raceparts.co.uk/ before and i know they used to be able to get proper push/pull cables made to measure with almost any ends fitted they are not cheap but it is made to measure

What I'm most interested in is the shift system. What kind of cable system is stiff enough for both push and pull? outboard motor control cables. fully stainless steel, really bendy and strong enough to swap cogs on a 200+hp outboard. sound good? oh yeah they start at £20 and available up to 33 feet long! To stay a little on-topic: why not use something transparent like plexiglas or Lexan? Easy to work with and lightweight. Just something like the Rocket has maybe?
