Hi all, I think I can finally say the car is 'finished' it runs, everything works, nothing has fallen off yet! I am working through bits and pieces in prep for the IVA, including filling out the forms. I was a bit disappointed as it appears Shrewsbury test station doesn't do the IVA, it is only 20 mins away from me and it is where I had my first kitcar SVA'd. I also carried on with timelapsing the build, at some point I will do a breakdown of 'things I found easy and things I found hard' instead of a traditional build diary. linkHopefully the test centres won't be too busy and I can be on the road later in the year...

well done chap. Pictures of rear may help the guys on here spot any potential errors. Looks fine to me, good job, not sure about position of side repeaters, are they going to pass the rear view test at 5 degs down to the deck without the rear wing blocking view ?

Don't bolt heads and stems have to be capped/covered? What about the rear shock center bolt sticking up in the air.. Left headlamp looks like you are going coon hunting in the trees.. Nice build like the color..

Haha yeah bumped the light as i was moving it All bolts are starting to get covers, I nicked the plastic bottle idea for the rear shock mounts. Indicators are mounted on a block so I can adjust around as necessary.

The car looks great. Slightly off topic but what are peoples opinions on covering bolt heads and such with self amalgamating tape?
Would that be suitable for IVA? That struck me as the cheapest solution to easily cover edges on things up.

That struck me as the cheapest solution to easily cover edges on things up. The trouble is the IVA tend to view using tape as a temporary fixture as it can be pulled off easily, so nut covers are the better option (pretty cheap on eBay) once stuck on with some PU adhesive, the same goes for any edge trim to be glued on as testers have been known to give them a tug Nice video by the way

Thanks everyone, I am putting bolt covers on things, edge trim where I can and a few bits done with split hose and cable ties. A couple more pics of the interior and the rear :-)

When people have questioned the appearance of the Exocet, or even called it downright ugly, I've always thought that it's because of the top, side chassis rail curving upwards from the rear to the front of the car. Visually this 'throws' the bulk of the car forward and makes it look ill proportioned. Painting the chassis frame a bright colour accentuates this feature....more so if the body panels are dark. Painting the chassis frame black and cladding it with brightly coloured body panels, as you have done, disguises it. Brightly coloured panels with a black chassis frame make the car look better proportioned. Or so I think! As remarked, your car looks great.

Will it pass IVA with the exhaust tip extended out that far?? Should the muffler clamp be turned so the nuts are on the top more out of sight??
