Hello all
It's been ages since I've been active on here, having sold my Exocet some time ago...
So, a cheeky question, since I know that there are many experts here.
I have a tidy 1995 1.8 Eunos with a smoky engine - valve guides and rings, so it's not worth the time and money to strip and fix when good motors are available quite cheaply. I have been offered a good 1.8 engine from a 2001 MK2 - will I have to mess about much to get going? Are they basically similar, or will I face problems?
Thanks - just being here is getting me thinking again...

OK, so if anyone did want to know, they fit, but the inlet ports and inlet manifolds are different. The stud spacing is the same, but the ports are differently spaced. The MK2 has flaps in the inlet that are controlled by the ECU. As the ECUs are different, activation of the flap solenoid needs to be switched.

Yes - very helpful chap explained exactly what's different and what's involved with the conversion. It seems likely to me that the exhaust ports are also different.
